Business Complaint lodged against: Wild Horse of Santa Fe 214 Old Santa Fe Trail Santa Fe, NM 87501
Dear sir or madam, please read the forgoing complaint for it describes in detail what the complaint is about. On January 4,5, and 6th My husband and I visited Santa Fe. On the 5th we stumbled into a little shop across from ******** ******. In the back I found a display case with a sign that said 80% ,off. I was just window shopping but I saw a beautiful chunky bracelet in the case covered in red stones with a large piece of turquoise in the middle. It was beautiful. I asked to see it so I could Examine it more closely. As I was examining it, the young man who was helping us ( proclaiming to be the grandson of the owner of the business) started telling us that all the stones were from Ethiopia. The bracelet was a very serene portrait in three dimensions (all stones were at different levels). It was BEAUTIFUL and the craftmanship EXCELLENT. In all The description of the original bracelet goes as follows:
Made from a dark grey silver with black shading or antiquing. The young man even bosting about the quality. Grade and thickness of the silver. returned bracelet is not.
Alot of silver not present notice in pictures.
Bulky in nature resembling a turquoise lake it the middle and two lizards wrapped around the lake like ying and yang top and bottom. The lizards were completely covered in Ethiopian Garnet and even had some rectangular cut garnets to emphasize details of the lizards. The turquoise was darker blue with only one brown line in it Returned bracelet is not.
The turquoise river had a frame of 3 flowers on top and three flowers on bottom ( right side)made of Ethiopian green peridot. Returned bracelet seems to have more.
Above, a large Ethiopian Opal as the moon. This bracelet seems to have 2 medium as a replacement.
From the side and back you can see by the pictures the push button clasp and back of bracelet. Now thinner, curved, less bulky. Original bracelet 1' wide with curved in edging. You can also see that there are a lot of bald spots where Ethiopian Garner should be.
In the other pictures you can see detailing etched to create facial features and scales which were all covered in Ethiopian Garnet and not on the original bracelet( for instance, original didn't have a nose)
There was a small stone by the turquoise lake which I thought to be onyx. This bracelet has another piece of turquoise.
Insignia from original bracelet not the same as this one. There also were no holes for the stones cast in the original bracelet. They were mounted.
All in all the original bracelet was stunning so I asked the young man how much? He told me 1900 or so.
I said I would buy it. The original tag that he said he had to take off for his inventory, said $10,100.
I have enclosed a picture of my receipt that shows I was purchasing a lizard. bracelet at 80% off the original price.
I told him I would justify such a purchase by making it a family heirloom to be passed on to my eldest daughter and my granddaughters. I was very happy. I could never have been able to buy such a beautiful bracelet at normal cost. It was a lucky day. I went on up the mountain enjoying our day but notice that the push button clasp needed a new tongue or a safety notch and hook. I returned on the 6th waited an hour for the young man who told me Iron horse takes care of their customers and merchandise 100% guaranteed and so instead of another jeweler I opted for them. He said I had to leave it for about five days to put the safety notch and clasp on it so I did. I didn't want to leave it anywhere but if I had to. I felt better about it being the store I purchased such a find with.
In short, after a few calls and text they kept the bracelet until January 18th. Sent me a text to pick it up and see you soon. So I told him I'm on my way. He was not Present when I was picking up my bracelet.
