On July 21st, I took my vehicle into the Tires For You business. I had left my car there for around four hours to have the tires replaced. The owner was unable to replace my tires and had performed a repair that I did not ask for. When the owner of the business called me to come and pick up my car, I had paid the bill that I was given for the work that I did not receive or ask for, and he told me that my car was ready. I did not see my car outside of the shop and told him it was not there and he had assured me that it was. I told him again that it was not outside and after a few moments he had told me to call the police because my car had been stolen. He had me call the police myself to his business for a stolen vehicle report. At the shop he had admitted to leaving the keys accessible on the counter in the open and that they were taken. He had told me I'm the presence of law enforcement that he knew who stole the car but "could not remember her name." While I was waiting for law enforcement to contact me about the next steps after filing the stolen report, the owner proceeded to close up his shop some time before their scheduled closing time not acknowledging me or wanting any part of the situation. After the vehicle had been recovered and I was contacted by law enforcement, the officers had let me know that the suspect that stole the car had claimed that the owner of Tires For You was her boss and that he gave her permission to take the vehicle. I had not been in contact with the owner since the time that law enforcement had left his place of business. A few hours later, the owner of Tires For You had called me on my personal phone to tell me that he had "heard that the car was recovered" and that if there was any damage to take it back to his shop. I had let him know that I would not take my vehicle back and would be seeking possible legal action, to which he had admitted again that he had left the key to the vehicle on the counter in the open at his shop.
