If I could give this business a -5 stars I would. I took my perfectly healthy, 3y/o Standard Poodle to this salon for a routine grooming on 12/10/23 and when I got her back that afternoon, I could immediately tell she was not felling well, she was breathing heavy. As the evening wore on, her breathing became more labored and she was struggling to breath. I took her to an Emergency vet in **** (it was the closest open) and she was taken back for X-rays which showed she had severe "puenomia", which was later diagnosed as "non-pulmonary edima". The radioligist/specialist said her grave condition was caused by either "drowing, strangulation or electrocution". It was determined that the groomer had strangled by sweet dog while grooming her with a lead around her neck; we could not save her and she bled out on the floor when they put her to sleep. We went to the groomer, spoke to the owner to find out what had happened, we were met with hostility, defensiveness, zero-accounability and blame. There was no other causation for my dog to have had that condition, other than by the groomer's technique of grooming with the lead around her neck and her being strangled; The ** vet had ruled all other causations out. We left the groomer heartbroken and without answers. A few days later, with our pups medical records in hand, we returned to the groomer to show her what the records showed and she immediately began to yell and say that my dog must have had some kind of underlying condition, that "she did not kill my dog", and refused to look at the medical records; she took no resposiblily. Later her daughters came in and said that they agreed "something could of happened" but did not know what. They agreed they were responsible, but could not offer us any financial help with medical bills or the cost for another pup. We have not heard from them in over a month, there has been no attempts to reconcile this heartbreaking and traumatizing experience for us or our sweet girl.
