On 9/21/23 Pro restoration was recommended by plumbing company that was going to replace my water heater. I needed a restoration company to fix the stand the water heater was on because of some water damage. My home warranty wanted that done before the water heater could be replaced. Pro restoration came in ready to start demolishing without giving me an estimate. I decided to call the home insurance company first to make sure theyd pay for the repairs before I even let the restoration company started breaking the stand. They insisted they needed to leave a big humidifier to dry the ********* gave in & agreed. I called my insurance company 9/22/23 & they wanted an estimate. They asked for a written estimate with all parts damaged, what they need to do, & cause of the leak/breakdown. That same morning I called pro restoration to remove the humidifier. They kept trying to convince me to leave it in place but I didnt feel comfortable with it in my house. The rep mentioned there was an **************** wouldnt pick it when they were free which was 9/25. She said I wouldnt have additional fees as they couldnt pick it up sooner. A week later I called to check on the *************** send me a very padded on bill that included the days the previous rep advised would not be charged, 5 hours of set up / take down that never occurred, & an emergency call fee. I spoke to ******* told her between both visits it could not have added to an hour of ******** used the humidifier 1 day. She said shed work on the new estimate. 2 weeks later she finally calls me back & she sends me a less padded **** but stated driving time is added to the work hours. Had I let them rip open the stand the bill would have been enormous. This company needs to be reviewed for unethical practices. I want the bill to be revised. They were called for an estimate not an emergency. The techs were here no more than an hour between both visits.Initial Complaint

I called a plumber on 5/8 because I suspected a leak in my spare bathroom. They came and made a hole in my wall and confirmed a leak and water damage and molds. They recommended pro restoration co. as they said this needs to be addressed. They did come the same day but did not do anything except leave a dehumidifier an advised us to file a claim with my home insurance as only then can they start working. They had my wife sign a document stating all charges not covered by insurance is our responsibility. I informed them about my claim number the following day and they had someone come over the following day 5/9 to look at the damage and seal the area. They did pull out the base board and lifted the carpet to remove wet under pad then sealed the area. I called them the following day and asked for an estimate but they declined to give one saying they only give charges after the work is done, even if they already had someone come in to see the damages. I argued that this is not how estimates or quotes are as I need to know beforehand what they were going to charge even an estimate as they could be too expensive. I unfortunately got declined by my insurance so asked them again for an estimate but they still declined so I asked them to just pull out all their equipment from my house. After that, they did send me an invoice amounting to$2100 without having done any significant work. I have quotes from 2 different companies amounting to $5000 to fix the leak, mold remediation and restore the walls while Pro restoration charges me $2100 for 2 days use of their dehumidifier and air mover without even fixing the cause of the water damage. Surely they are over charging which is why they do not want to give estimates before they start work. They bait you into signing a document saying you are responsible for all charges not payed for by insurance but refuse to give an estimate before hand.
