07/09/2021: Contract to install flooring, carpet, and baseboard in residential property signed. Contract price $17,051.75. 10/12/2021: Installation appointment scheduled. The project to install flooring starts at the property. Three people work to install flooring at the property and no issues occur. 10/13/2021: One installer appears at the property. The person seems to struggle to plan the project, work in an orderly fashion, and is video recorded outside the property repeatedly spitting and speaking very loudly on the phone. 10/14/2021: A manager of the Affordable flooring organization visits the property. I am promised the organization will take responsibility for the issues I report and follow up on repairs and reimbursement for property damage. 10/29/201: The last day the Affordable Flooring company works at the property. The project is not complete after 17 days of the organization's presence at the property. 124 days after a 50% project deposit in the amount of $8525.88 was tendered on 07/09/2021. 11/01/2021: I send a request to the Affordable Flooring organization to provide information about the processing of the property damage claim. 11/08/2021: I speak to the owner of the organization Mr. Michael B******. Mr. B****** makes several disparaging comments about me during the phone call and refuses to address the project quality and property damage concerns I bring to his attention. 11/08/2021: I send an offer to the Affordable Flooring organization to settle the property damage claim. I do not receive a response. Please see the attached document for a copy of the offer.

      Business response

      09/07/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2021/12/02) */ A resolution was attempted with the customer. A discount was offered, but customer continues to harass the manufacturer. I continue to get emails forwarded to me from the manufacturer. There appears to be some repairs that are needed, from pictures that have been sent over by the customer to the manufacturer, not us. However, we were not made aware of any issues, other than her complaints about things that are unrelated to the material or installation. These were only brought up in an email that we just received from the manufacturer, where she included photos of 3 areas that need to be addressed. We will never leave a project incomplete, and certainly not attempt to collect a final balance until the install is complete. The customer had no complaints about the quality of the install when we had our last conversation. I don't know what her angle is with this, but I have an install crew and 2 supervisors who will refuse to enter her home after the way she treated them. It's been a long time since we've come across someone like this person and her "team". We are very highly rated and respected in Las Vegas. We enter into every project with the best of intentions and make every effort to ensure that the customer is happy and satisfied. There isn't another company in town who puts as much effort into this as we do. Every now and then, a customer comes along that makes us question why we continue to subject ourselves to this. I only wish we were able to see them coming... This customer is a terrible individual with an ulterior motive behind what she is doing. It was s simple flooring project. I don't understand why it has turned into this. Consumer Response /* (3000, 24, 2022/01/07) */ The reason I have failed to indicate whether the Affordable Flooring & More company's response is satisfactory or not within ten (10) days is: I felt unsafe during my meeting with Mr. Michael B****** on December 7, 2021. Mr. Michael B****** visited the ******************** Street property on December 7, 2021, under the pretenses that he wished to inspect the reported installed ****** ******* laminate flooring and baseboard issues. I was informed that Mr. Michael B****** needed to inspect the flooring on-site to file a ****** product warranty claim. While present at the property, Mr. Michael B****** showed no sincere interest in inspecting the flooring. Instead, Mr. Michael B****** used the opportunity to visit my property and meet with me to inform me of the following: Unless I stop complaining to the Better Business Bureau and others, I will get nothing from his organization. Further, the ****** flooring manufacturer will do nothing for me. The business problem I have with installed ****** flooring with chips, and big holes remain unresolved. A settlement agreement for the reported property damage has not been reached. The project details indicate production and scheduling concerns with the Affordable Flooring & More project at the ******************** Street property from October 12, 2021, to October 29, 2021. Tuesday, October 12, 2021: The first day of the flooring and baseboard installation project at the ******************** Street property. Thursday, October 14, 2021: A report is emailed to the Affordable Flooring & More organization giving notice that I have serious concerns with the conditions of the Jobsite and the actions taken by the subcontractor present at the property. I follow up with a phone call to ensure the email is received by management. Saturday, October 16, 2021: I am informed the project cannot be finished because the flooring installation crew needs to work on another project at a different property. Friday, October 29, 2021: My last meeting with a representative of the Affordable Flooring & More organization before the organization sends me a project invoice and declares the project completed. During the meeting, I am promised the Affordable Flooring & More organization will follow up with me about the reported project concerns. No follow up occurs. The amount of time required for the Affordable Flooring & More organization is not reasonable based on industry standards for residential flooring installation projects. Estimated area to install flooring: 1,800 sqft. Laminate flooring installation rate with one worker scheduled during regular business hours: 400 - 600 sqft / day. Mr. Michael B******'s organization required seventeen days to organize and complete a small flooring, and baseboard installation project that, based on industry standards, is expected to require three to five business days to finish. I coordinated activities amongst eight different installers, two project managers, and three administrative team members to be able to gain access to the resources required to reach an end to the flooring installation project at my property. Further, it was necessary to schedule one plumbing and one electrical service call to resolve project issues. Mr. Michael B****** and his team of project managers were conspicuously absent from the Jobsite during the seventeen days the teams of installers tried to finish the project using the available resources and supplies. I do not find Mr. Michael B****** to speak the truth about the events that unfolded during the Affordable Flooring & More flooring and baseboard installation project at my property. I do find that there is cause to have concerns about the installed flooring at my property. My next step will be to seek to have the flooring inspected by an independent third party. I find Mr. Michael B****** to use disparaging remarks to describe his customers in order to avoid addressing more specific concerns with the quality of the flooring installation services that his organization provides. Lastly, I include a copy of a **** review recently posted on ****.com. Affordable Flooring & More **** review posted by ******** on November 5, 2021. This company has the worst customer service. After their installer too large chunks of of my newly installed base board that was put in two days earlier and painted the day before I was asked to get a price to replace it. I called my installer and because he had already left the job. It would be $500.00 to come back. I Let the supervisor Gomez know. Then I was told they were not responsible for scratches. Well gouged are my scratched. Then a guy name Mike called and gave nothing but excuses. I said you people never even offered to repair it. He said you didn't ask. What the heck he was rude obnoxious and ultimately said he didn't give a **** who I was the was after he kept talking over me and I said hey I'm the customer. He said he didn't give a **** who I was. Well that discussion went south after that. So Mike if you read this you are a total jerk. So people beware. They damage our property and claim they are not responsible Business Response /* (4000, 29, 2022/08/29) */ I'm not going to keep going back and forth with this crazy lady. Nothing about what she is saying is true. We have completed her project and have had no contact with her since January. This case just needs to be closed. This lady has a history of lying, as proven in the case I have attached. Please do not contact me again about this. I will not give this lady another ounce of my energy.

I contracted with this company to buy and have them install carpeting in my home. Yesterday they came to do this and in the process damaged my newly installed baseboard by taking two CHUNKS out of the baseboard with their tac hammer. Today they refused to pay for the repair of that baseboard saying I electronically signed a document stating they were not responsible for scratches in the baseboard. today I ARGUED with them, that GOUGES are not SCRATCHES. These are good size CHUNKS taken out of the baseboard. I talked today with whom I believe is the owner, a Mike, and he was totally unreasonable and rude and said he did not give a **** who I was. I would like the baseboard repaired or replaced to it's original condition the day before.

      Business response

      03/22/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/11/09) */ What happened, is when our installers arrived on site, they determined that they would have to add a second layer of tackstrip because the baseboard has been installed incorrectly. It was approximately 1" higher than the subfloor. This would have resulted in a gap between the carpet and the base. While installing the tackstrip, the hammer caught the baseboard 1 time, causing minor damage. This was work that we normally charge for, but chose to do it as an accommodation for the customer. That was our first mistake. We have a clause in our contract that states "Reasonable Care will be taken to prevent scratching your molding, paint, drywall, or wallpaper; however, some touch up may be required by you. Baseboards are not normally removed during carpet installations." That being said, we will not leave a customer hanging if our installers cause significant damage. In this case, ***** called, berating our staff, disrespecting and degrading our installer for his lack of care. Hector is our main carpet installer. He is fantastic and likely one of the best in all of Las Vegas. We get nothing but compliments about him; how respectful and hard working he is. ***** was out of line with how he approached the situation. He stated that it would cost $500 to repair a 6" piece of baseboard. I disagreed and told him that I am not willing to pay someone $500 for a task that can easily be accomplished in an hour or 2. ***** never gave me a chance to offer to repair the base, he simply yelled profanities at me and continued to berate me. This is after he did the same to one of my staff members. I'm all for helping out customers and doing whatever we can to make sure our customers are satisfied. But when we are treated in such a way that makes my staff uncomfortable, it's not in me to let that slide. I'm still willing to have one of my installers repair the portion of base that was damaged, even though ***** agreed, when he signed our documents, that we are not responsible for it. However, I am not willing to have any of my staff enter his home if he continues to treat us the way he has. Consumer Response /* (3000, 8, 2021/11/11) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) First of all the baseboards were not installed incorrectly. There was tile installed and the baseboards were installed at that level. It was not a six inch piece of baseboard. It was a sixteen foot one piece of baseboard that would have to be replaced. This Mike said to me after I said I was the customer and he should have offered to replace the baseboard or fix it and he said he did not give a s*** who I was so he started the berating. He has distorted the whole thing. As far as he should have charged well that was never discussed. His installer came out and quoted the job. All of this is irrelevant. The fact is his expert installer that is the best in the valley took two gouges out of the baseboard. Not scratches. Mike should know the difference between a scratch and gouges. In order to put my bedroom back together I had to pay out of pocket to take care of the damage that Mike never offered until this complaint was filed. In closing I will not tolerate being told he didn't give a **** who I was. Mike stated things that were not true and his supervisor admitted how it was mishandled was just his fault. So Mike your customer approach is lacking finesse and courtesy. Consumer Response /* (2000, 14, 2021/12/06) */ This has been resolved. A discount was agreed upon and the customer was satisfied.
