Our home needed the water heater replaced and the technician was not on the on time but very informative and answered all our questions with regards to the water heater. I called customer service to confirm our appointment and they also assured me that under the warranty that is will be covered 100%. Not only with a patient with me but they answered all my questions and explain to me exactly what they were going to do and offered me recommendations on how to best go about maintaining the new water heater. 44 minutes 1 pipe $650.00 5 Star was sent to us by ******** **** ******, who charged a $125 service fee. Our plumbing issue was not covered by AHS (which kept our $125 service fee), and 5 Star told us that in order to fix the problem, they would need to tear out drywall, or cut into stucco or both. They would need $650.00 before they would schedule service. Since they had been referred by ***, I thought they were respectable. Silly me.... They showed up for the appointment, said they wanted to see if the outside pipe could be fixed first, so they wouldn't have to cut into the stucco or drywall. And miracle of miracles... the problem was resolved. 44 minutes 1 pipe Still $650.00 I called to ask for a partial refund. The lady I spoke to said he would forward my request along. No response. Just an emailed invoice. Saying... you guessed it... 44 minutes 1 pipe $650.00 I have sent numerous emails asking them to reconsider. No response. Please... do not pay these people up front. The only plus is that the problem was fixed. But again... for the final time.... 44 minutes 1 pipe $650.00Review from Nancy S

ART from 5 star home services came to my home this afternoon and I have to tell you how very happy I was, not only with their professionalism but with how kind and amiable they were. ART is very professional Technician, so he was able to quickly and efficiently detect the trouble and to repair it without unnecessary expense. I am breathing a huge sigh of relief and am ever so thankful! If I need to use a plumbing service again, I will not for one moment hesitate to contact "5 Star Home Services, Inc". Very unprofessional Company, technicians are uneducated and made more damage when left. This company did a repair on my AC in October as a vendor for my home warranty. The technician Jerry ((I was told that was his name) had no idea of what he is doing and replaced a part that didn't have to be replaced. Quote "I can't find anything wrong, so the only thing I can do is replace this" and showed me some small part.'" Of course, the air never came on, I recalled the job, he had to come back and when he arrived, he had poor attitude and was very rude... Needless to say AC was not fixed. Fast forward to couple weeks ago. New order, new company was dispatched per my request. Unfortunately, the new company didn't want to complete the job as they didn't want to accept the responsibility for the damage done by the previous technician. They called the home warranty them self's and recalled 5 Starr back to my home. They had to reschedule, the receptionist/dispatcher was so unprofessional and rude to the point that she hung up the phone when I asked of her name. Showed up to do evaluation AGAIN and NEVER CAME BACK. They had conveniently closed the job without doing the job. Stay away from this company!!!!5 Star Home Services, Inc. Response

Jerry, our technician didn't replace an unnecessary part, your unit was loosing refrigerant, we did a leak test, but weren't able to pinpoint the exact location, hence the tech added dye into system and charged with refrigerant, which is standard procedure for microscopic leaks. We never got call back from you after.

Technician came to look at our ceiling which had water leakage from pipe. No walls or ceiling was opened to look at the source of leak. All that was visible was water dripping from the ceiling. Nothing was visible except for water dripping from the ceiling, that's it. We find out the next day that 5 Star Home Services technician, Enrique, had reported that there was visible mold when in fact there was no visible mold at all. Because of his report, our home warranty denied our coverage. It is completely wrong to report something that they did not see. They basically lied about the condition of the damage and/or assumed there was further damage. Now it is revealed that they are a shady business hiding behind a smiling face. The other complaints on BBB are validation that I am one of many victims of 5 Star Home Services operations.5 Star Home Services, Inc. Response

4/10/23 11:33: EM there 4/10 MON, 11:29 to 11:30, Water leaking, causing secondary damage in the ceiling. Will need mitigation and mold team to address to prevent exposure of possible mold and creating access ; snapped 1 QuickPic
Per customers request, a mitigation company was present on site too, and advised the customer the same (no visible mold on the surface, but possible inside the ceiling).
We have since contacted AHS, trying to reopen the claim.
Access still should be provided by customer, on the same grounds (possible mold).
