I went to the emergency room at this facility for severe pain following back surgery. The nurse inserting an iv in my arm had no clue what he was doing. Between the wiggling in my arm, the staff was laughing and joking around with the ambulance staff that was there to transport me to valley hospital. I told the nurse this doesn't feel right as my arm started to swell. As I was transported the site began to turn colors. Now I have numbing, tingling and can't feel my pinky or ring finger. I've reached out and their only response is "that's the risk you take with an iv". Me having no feeling in my left arm below the elbow is not the risk I signed up for. This is simply an excuse for hiring incompetent people.I'm not looking for any type of financial payment but I want them to fix my arm to what it was before their nurse damaged my arm. I want excuses to stop being made. This is by far the worse experience I've ever had in my 44 years on this planet. Now I'm afraid to go get any treatment at any facility here in the ********* valley. They simply don't care

Hello, my name is **** ******* and and I have the authority to act on behalf of ******* ******** as stated in his power of attorney, He was admitted to Desert Spring Hospital on August 21,2022 as a result of a fall in his apartment, he is elderly, suffering from confusion and with limited mobility and is unable to independently care for his personal property. On Wednesday, August 24, at the time of my visit, I was able to feed him because he still had his dentures on (as recorded at the time of his admission he had both upper and lower dentures )and was in a better mental state. He was able to eat most of the food that was provided at lunchtime but to my surprise on Saturday, August 27, 2022 he was in a not so good state, already with his lower denture missing and no staff member of this hospital could tell me what happened to his dentures I complained to the nurse about the disappearance of the denture and about the kind of food that they continue to provide to him knowing that he cannot eat hard foods without his dentures that is inhumane. The hospital needs to Recognize that not all personal property is the same. For their health and well-being for some patients they need to keep items like dentures while in hospital ******** is a retired man of almost 73 years old who depends completely on his social security check , it is his solo income to pay for rent and other needs ,it is almost impossible for him to pay for another set of dentures after having paid for these a few months ago I would like the hospital to take responsibility for what happened to a patient under their care and help him to replace his dentures ,The loss of a denture can have a detrimental effect on his wellbeing, impacting his nutrition, attached you will find copies of the PAO where it specifies that I am authorized to act on behalf of ******* ******** and copy of the patient personal effects and valuables form that I sign when I receive his things minus lower dentures.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/09/06) */ Hi ****, Providing quality care is the ultimate goal of the staff at Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center. We thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. As previously discussed, Desert Springs Hospital is not responsible for the care of patient's personal items that are not stored within our Security department for safe keeping. Please be assured that every effort was made to recover the dentures and we will continue to be on the lookout. Should you have any further questions, feel free to reach out at (XXX) XXX-XXXX. Thank you. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/09/13) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) After consulting with a lawyer unlike ambulances, hospitals are absolutely responsible for covering the cost of replacement dentures, so we will be seeking help so that Mr. ******** can obtain new dentures,THANK YOU.
