Southern Hills Billed us for services for our daughter ***** ******. Account #******** We paid in full on April 2, 2024, in the amount of $1122.88 We have a bank statement that shows the amount was paid in a single payment directly to Southern Hills Hosp/MC.Southern Hills turned us over to collections. And the person at the collection agency refused to acknowledge we paid and continued to say we owed money.Southern Hills needs to recheck its records and note the payment was paid in full. And notify the collections to cease contact.

I would like to cancel this complaint. This situation has been resolved. The original payment was applied to the wrong account and a refund issued back to us. Our full balance has been paid on the correct account.

On August 8, 2024, after five days of feeling extreme and feverish, I went to ER at the Lakes in *********. They gave me an IV to combat dehydration, did blood work, and ultimately a doctor prescribed meds and my condition gradually improved. While at the facility, I told them I was uninsured. They estimated my bill would be $500, and asked what I could pay that day. I paid 50% of the estimate, $250. Several days later, I started getting phone calls from Southern Hills Hospital telling me to call a different number to see if I qualified for assistance. I called a couple of times, but was on hold for more than ******************************* calling, as I figured when the bill arrived, I would just pay the other $250. Then I remembered that I had ********* I have never used it and just forgot that I had it So I called the number again to update my information and was told that my account was sent to collections. At this point it had only been about two weeks since I had been in the *** and I still havent received a bill. I called Southern Hills Hospital billing department and was able to speak to someone who updated my information and said she would submit a claim. I offered to pay the remaining $250 over the phone, but she said that $500was just an estimate and my bill was now $9300. That strikes me as a wildly inaccurate estimate. She wouldnt take a payment over the phone She said that I should just wait until I get a bill. But now I have a collection agency calling me. It hasnt even been a month since I was in the *** and to date I still have not received a single bill. Sending my account to collections two weeks after my visit Is rather *****, and is going to impact my credit score. . Im curious how the estimated bill jumped from $500 to $9300 for a blood test and an IV. But my main concern is to have this sent to collections removed from my credit record. Because upon payment, it will stay on my credit report for seven years

My main concern was their having sent my bill to Collections, and that it would affect my credit rating. A friend just informed me that medical debt cant affect ones credit rating. Im embarrassed by my ignorance, as this news (to me) essentially renders the reason behind my complaint moot. Im sorry.

Horrific experience in the undermanned ER that was, apparently, being run by an abusive security guard. I rushed my daughter here on March 20, 2022. She was so ill she needed a wheelchair. I parked out front and ran inside to grab one. There were two nurses off to the side and nobody manning the ER counter/ER, with the exception of the security guard. I stressed to the guard that my daughter was very ill and needed a wheelchair. He said, "Ma'am, put a mask on!," while pointing at a box of masks on the counter. I put a mask on and again stressed that my daughter was very ill and that I needed a wheelchair. He pointed across the room and said, "They're over there!" He then sat and smirked at me while I attempted to pull the wheelchairs apart. I rushed back in with my daughter and placed her at the counter where it said "Check-in". I then turned to go back outside to park my vehicle. The security guard snapped, "Ma'am! You can't just leave her there! Move her over there!' He was pointing at the waiting area. I moved my daughter and informed him I would like to speak with his supervisor. When I re-entered the building, the security guard was still the only individual manning the entire ER/ER counter. I asked him to get his supervisor as I had requested. He demanded that I go sit down. I repeatedly asked that he get his supervisor and he continued to snap at me to go sit down. I began walking toward the two nurses in the corner to request that they get someone to help. The security guard yelled, "Ma'am, you're violating patient privacy! GO SIT DOWN!" I again asked that he get his supervisor as I had requested repeatedly. He continued to demand that I go sit down. Given that nobody was manning the ER, we had not checked in, and the security guard was abusive and refused to get his supervisor, I asked my daughter if I should call an ambulance or if she was okay heading to another facility. We left and went to another ER where the experience was night and day!
