1 starThis place is the worst ever do not stay here. We had two rooms and both got hit with $500 smoking fee and we don’t smoke tired to talk to manger and she was never there staff very rude at front desk. Requested handicap room was put on the 9th floor but the elevator stopped working after we got to our floor. Human feces in the stairwell smelled of cigarettes and marijuana.Outlets in the rooms didn’t work broken lamps one room still had dirty clothes left in cabinet. I’m sure a jail cell would have been cleanerReview fromJess B

1 starAs someone who was surprised after already have payed and booked I was told after the fact about the fees and the $300 hold on card for room when getting there, I made sure to take care of the room and respect hotel rules. To ensure I would get the money back. This was my first visit to Las Vegas, I came for a family wedding. I was charged $500 for allegedly smoking in my room! I am a professional hair stylist and I use a high end blow dryer that is hotter than most and applying product to my hair, the dryer creates an amount of smoke due to the heat. The detector went off at the very time we were doing our hair for the wedding. I am certain this is what led to the misunderstanding, but at no point did I or anyone else smoke in the room. But now looking at previous reviews this is obviously an ongoing SCAM !!! Also I was appalled by the room I was given in the first place. That looked nothing like the pictures online! As soon as I walked in, I had asked for two beds and received one. Bathroom was not clean and hair was left in my tub. The tub got clogged everytime we used it! There was black mold coming out of the bathroom mirror. Also Broken and open electrical outlets that sparked me while plugging in my phone charger. Elevator did not work on the second floor, we had to take our bags up and down the stair. All in which I have taken pictures of. I was willing not to make a big deal about but after the Outrageous charge, I cannot look the other way. As a single mother already struggling to make ends meet, this unexpected and unjust charge has created a severe financial burden. This situation is not only stressful but also completely unacceptable. When trying to explain this to your hotel director. Dinora laughed in our faces and called us a liar. And threatened to kick me out if I didn’t leave the front desk. It was Very unprofessional and very rude customer service to the point I was crying in front of all the staff. Very humiliating!Review fromMegan B

1 starDO NOT STAY HERE. For the cheap price, we expected that the hotel wasn't going to be the nicest (which was true - the elevators didn't work for a 15 floor hotel, the room stunk, outlets in our room were inoperable, and the shower leaked all night). While these are all unfortunate, you get what you pay for. BUT what we didn't pay for was to unknowingly have our $300 deposit get taken from us and a random $266 charge added to my credit card from OYO. Do not give these people your credit card numbers!! We never received any notice of receipt for this extra charge and when calling the hotel, we got hung up on when asking to speak to the front desk or ask about the charge (after calling back on the same number, they didn't even pick up the phone). Once we tried them on a different phone they said 'no, you cannot speak to anyone about that.' We are working with the credit card company to get the charges dropped, but it is not worth the hassle and I feel gross giving this company any of our money for staying there, even if it was little. Be weary of this scam - it is sick that they are still in business and prying off of those that cannot afford to go to nicer hotels.Review fromKim W

1 starBooked here since it was close to our friend’s resort. They gave us the 9th floor, only the service elevator was working for almost the entire 5 days. We almost missed dinner reservations with our friends because we waited for 25 minutes and the elevator never stopped on our floor. This started happening consistently, when they offered to change floors, we were already 30 minutes late for our dinner. They said they couldn’t hold the room on the second floor, we said we’ll try tomorrow. We did end up changing rooms, the tub was not very clean, rooms had chunky dust buildup on the walls or under the bathroom sink. Our second floor room was near the stairs, those stairs did not have access to the lobby, and we were asked multiple times a day how to get to the lobby, which was the opposite stairwell from our room. We learned the owner, who we were told is from India, is not going to spend money to fix the elevators. The service elevator started acting funny and they were limiting it to five or six guests at a time and when the line was down the hallway, it was very time-consuming to get in and out of the hotel. The property is next-door to the Tropicana, which is in the process of being torn down. I did not mind the view of the destroyed parking lot, The staff was as friendly as they could be. We considered moving hotels entirely, but we had plans for all of the days and when we had two days left we figured what was the point. We also learned since the California A’s baseball team’s stadium is going to be where the Tropicana was the owner is just waiting to sell the hotel when that happens. I heavily recommend you stay somewhere else, the actual elevators were only running for a couple of hours on our third day.Review fromVeretta W

1 starTHE WORST STAY! One star is honestly too generous. This hotel is a complete scam! Don’t be fooled by the low price — it’s cheap for all the wrong reasons. There’s clearly no investment in the hotel, staff training, or housekeeping. "On Your Own" couldn’t be more accurate! You’re left waiting forever for elevators, sleeping in filth, dealing with nonexistent security, and an unresponsive front desk. The negatives far outweigh any positives, and I don't even have enough space to fully express how dissatisfied I am! Avoid this place at all costs! I had an extremely disappointing experience at OYO Hotel and Casino and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone until significant improvements are made. The rooms were filthy, with old cigarette burns in the carpet, and the elevators were broken down for three days — one elevator for 15 floors in a fully booked hotel. The air conditioner filters looked like they hadn’t been changed in years, and to top it off, we found someone’s hair tie in the bed, only discovered after requesting a linen change. To make matters worse, I was hit with a surprise resort fee charge over a month after my stay. When I called to inquire, everything was fine until I spoke with Michael from the hotel, who was rude and unaccommodating. There was absolutely no reason for this unexpected charge, and the lack of customer service was unacceptable. While the snack bar attendant from Tennessee was great, it doesn’t make up for the overall terrible experience. I will never stay at OYO again, and I highly recommend avoiding it until they get their act together. Save yourself the trouble!Review fromCody F

1 starThere was no elevators working so customers had to use service elevator.. so then the staff couldn't so I am sure that the hotel was not getting cleaned. Then the service elevator downstairs stop on all floors correctly and would not come to our floor so we had to take 7 flights of stairs with luggage bags. The ice machines were out on our floor and the floor above us so had to try 3 different floors to get ice.Review fromMaria L

1 starHi there, I got in Las Vegas on August 2nd and after checking in at the OYO Hotel I decided to not stay there. I've paid $430.23 in advance plus $275.95 for a security deposit at the check-in. The hotel is out of maintenance, the room was dirty, elevators don't work (just 1 of 3), the AC is falling apart and it's been more than 40 degrees in here. I took pictures of my room and the stairs! Less than 5 minutes after using the STAIRS to go to my room, I went back to the lobby and explained that it was impossible to stay there. The person who was introduced as the manager was polite and told me that they wouldn't charge the room and I would have my money back (including the room and security deposit) in 2-3 business days. Around 6pm today I went back to the hotel as I did not have the security deposit back in my bank account and they are charging the room. The manager who helped me before wasn't there and the lady who talked to me said that the security deposit was no longer with them. Besides that she said that they would charge me at least for 1 day. I replied saying that the information didn't match to what the manager said on the 2nd. I showed her my credit card bill. I asked to talk to another manager and THERE WAS NO MANAGER AT THE HOTEL TODAY. Then she said that it should a problem with my bank which is not true. Finally she said that it could take 5 business days and I said again that the information didn't match. She started getting angry and told that if I kept insisting on have my security deposit back and the room payment she would call the security. The security guard came and told me that the hotel was a private property and I should leave the place immediately. In addition, the security guard started taking pictures of me! What kind of place is that??? There's no manager and I was threaten by the lady and the security guard! I keep waiting to have my money back and hope you can help me!Review fromStanika J

2 starsThere is only one working elevator and sometimes that doesn't work. Had ro walk down 16 flight of stairs. There is no A/C in the casino area. I also wad told I would be comped stay.Resort fees would be waived for the weekend. LIES!!!. They canceled my reservation and then turned around and wanted me to pay another $300 deposit after the locked me out. I wrote an email to Channel 8 news to complain. Don't understand why we pay resort fees for the use of 1 elevator and no A/C. Plus, I didn't use the pool. Everything else seems to be brokenReview fromJames F

1 starMe and my wife stayed at this hotel February 3rd though the 6th. The hotel itself was kinda old and dated, but we picked it because it was inexpensive and we were not planning on spending much time in the room anyway. We got a big suprise when we went to check out and I saw the receipt. We had 2 smoking fees on the room, one for $400 and another for $220. No one was smoking in the room. When we asked the desk clerk about it she said there was a smoke sensor in the room that got triggered twice while we were there. The hotel itself is very smokey in general. People smoke in the casino and oftentimes the hallway smelled heavy of smoke and Marijuana. When I told the woman at the desk that, she told me that the sensor can be triggered by a lots of different things not just smoke but if it picks up anything they automatically charge a smoking fee. We asked to speak to a manager and were told the manager would not dispute the charge and the only thing we could do was dispute it with the credit card company. Later while at the airport I tried calling to talk to a manager and just kept getting transferred around until I got transferred to a line that just kept ringing for 20 min until I had to hang up to get on the plane. After checking them on bbb and online reviews it turns out there are a very large amount of the samw exact complaint. It is obvious to me they are just running a scam . They bring people in with good prices and then charge ** fees that are more then the cost of the room. We did finally get an email from a manager when we requested the sensor report and it showed two days where if supposedly detected smoke. The times these incidents happened, we were not in the room. We have time stamps on photos showing us out of the room at those times.
