I went in to *** Wiens located on *************************************************************** on 9/21/23 for windshield wiper blades and windshield wiper fluid, and to get my tires checked, that is all.I was in my drivers seat watching a guy add fluid to my windshield wiper reservoir, more than one bottle and into more than one spot. They did not add the fluid fill on the invoice. I only saw through the crack so I could not tell but trusted that it all went into the washer fluid reservoir. My car started making some weird noises and acting strange so I went in for an oil change which was due in a few more hundred miles anyway. I went to ********** located at ****************** on 10/3/23. I also sat in my car and watched through the hood crack. The first thing the guys saw and told me was that my coolant was overfilled. Then I told them about my visit to *** Wiens for blades and washer fluid. They chemically tested the coolant and found that it had washer fluid in it and they even called over to *** Wiens, and I was told to go back there and that they would be waiting to take care of the problem. It all sounded ok, but when I went back to *** Wiens, 4 mechanics including the manager popped the hood and in less then 30 seconds denied any wrongdoing. Then we got into an argument after I was treated so poorly after going back expecting them to say sorry for your trouble We made a mistake and we will take care of it right away. They flat out denied it and keep using some excuse about the coolant color, but the color is not the issue at all. I have witnessed both services from inside the front seat of my car because I am disabled and in a wheelchair. I saw what I saw, and I am glad I went somewhere else for the oil change. I have pictures of a chemical test before and after the coolant and radiator flush, and it also states on the receipt from ********** that there is washer fluid in the coolant reservoir. You can verify that with ********************** or ******** at **********, - ************.

As far as I am concerned this just goes to show they won't admit to the mistake they made and will not admit to harassing me so badly either.  This better go as a bad **** against them. Can you tell me where else to report this company? Thanks, *******

After further review of the complaint, we have determined that we are not at fault in this case.  The services provided, windshield wiper installation and the top off of the windshield wiper fluid reservoir could not have caused the problems brought forward in this complaint.

The coolant reservoir and the windshield wiper fluid reservoir are clearly marked and are in locations under the hood that would not be mistaken.  We also purchased ****** OE replacement coolant fluid from the local ****** dealership and the fluid itself is blue, similar to that of the wiper fluid.  We believe the ********** location which made the claims is unaware of this fact and sold an unnecessary service.

Hi, I just got this information and the last thing I saw from the BBB was that no one responded from *****************. Now I see that they are still lying about the issue.

I do not agree with their information because a top off of windshield wiper is not true. My windshield wiper fluid was empty! The guy filled the entire bottle of fluid and went nd got more and put it into my resivours. I know he made a mistake. and They did not just top it off. That is another Lie.  Like I said. I was in the front seat and I saw exactly what happened over there and at ***********  They totally fixed my car after it was acting weird and they determined that the fluid was diluted, and after I went back to ***************** to have them take care of it like they said they would when *********** employee called and told them what happened. Such liars and they are not going to get away with it. I guess I need to take further steps. Do not close this case.

      Customer response

      11/22/2023

Hi again, I just got a look at the pictures of the coolant they sent! That does not even address the issue at all. What a joke. The issue has to do with overfilling my coolant resivour with windshield wiper fluid .The guy probably thought it was my overflow I suppose.  I saw the guy use more than one bottle of wiper fluid to fully fill it up due to it being empty, not just a top off like they stated, I was in the front seat and saw him fill more than one area.

I went to ********** for an oil change, nothing else. They do an inspection and the first thing they found was the overfilled coolant, period. end of story. They did not do it, and they proved it to me with test strips. I was again in the driver seat. They did not touch anything else at that point because we determined I needed to go back to *****************; place for them to check it out which they never even looked at.  About 4 men stood around the hood of my car and all agreed they could not have done it and never even checked the fluid out to see if it was diluted or not.  It was such a joke and they really are horrible to try and work with. After the horrible experience at *****************, I went back to **********, had my oil changed and also my coolant flushed. It took 4 flushes to get the test strips to read good again. They did me right, not like TW, who keeps on insisting they are right and using the wrong reasons. Who needs a picture of the ****** Coolant! We all know it is blue and so is windshield wiper fluid! Except that my coolant got diluted from the wiper fluid in it! I called ****** and talked to a guy there and he said the correct universal coolant and the right oil was used by **********. They did a great job!  I will absolutely tell ********** that ***************** is blaming them for doing unnecessary services, and that they were accused of lying to me. I hopw they will do something about it too.

So they still want to continue lying. I was told there were video cameras, were they reviewed like I was told by a Corporate gal named ******? She also was at first saying they would make sure to pay me back and she was so sorry for the problem and they should have never treated me so poorly, etc. She totally denied everything she told me the very next day when I called back because she said she would and never did.

Hello my name is *******. I have something that needs *** Wiens corporate office attention. Instead of going into great detail about my experience with my Vehicles being serviced first I would like to attach some recorded phone calls about my 2009 Audi A-4 2.0 Turbo Premium plus. I did not record these phone calls With any Type of intention. My phone was issued to me. Through my law enforcement department That I have worked at the last 15 years, one of the settings is it automatically records every phone call. Sometimes I shut it off but it usually just turns on anyway. In this case, I am happy it recorded this way I can share with you what happened. To be fair I also put them on notice that the The phone call was being recorded just the same as *** Wiens call is recorded on their line as well.In the phone calls, you will hear many different issues that range from parts that were added to my car without my prior permission and then tacked onto my bill to the main issue, which was While my car was being serviced, I also asked them to change the oil while it was there and provided the oil and filter. Not only do they acknowledge that they did not change the oil but that they over filled it due to the audi not having a dip stick but only reads oil level via the computer. I only caught this issue after I noticed my car says it still needed oil service and that the oil was very low. I also have a picture of this and a picture of the filthy excess oil I had to drain. Almost 2 extra quarts!.Now my audi has a very small oil leak somewhere due to driving it for 41 Miles with way too much oil because not only did *** Wiens not change my old oil but they opened the oil I brought and topped it off and did not reset the light. Had they reset the light I might have not known until my car was totalled. The only reason I have anyone work on my cars now is because I have a hernia and a broken back as well as medical issues that has even forced me into early retirement. So it hurt me to get under the car and drain the extra 2 quarts. I am now on more oxycodone for the pain as doing this caused my hernia to tear even more and my intestines pushed out and I will have to get surgery in the near future. I would like a full refund so I can get my car repaired from any damage that *** have been caused due to this issue. I believe what I'm asking for is more than reasonable considering that even the manager has now changed *** Wiens policy due to my incident. God forbid my insurance Find out that I need surgery due to someone else's negligence. Then they will not cover my surgery. And I will have to pay for that out of pockethousands of dollars, I'm sure. The file I have is too large and I will need a live person or I can upload ******* and attach link.I will create a file so you can listen and resend this email. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

This location of *** Wiens is not where you want to take your car to be worked in. Sadly, they do not meet their commitment when it comes to timely service. My daughter's car needed some head/cylinder work done. I realize it is an extensive job, but extending the weekly deadline twice (and now maybe a third time) is completely unacceptable. Every time I have been there they hav only a couple of people in the shop and they are primarily standing around. There is definitely not enough workers to meet their commitments. I have had to finance UBER rides, mass transit rides for the last month due to this company's failure to meet their stated deadlines. I have no idea about the quality of their work because I have yet to be able to get the car back. Based on their lack of commitment to meeting deadlines, I am extremely concerned about the quality of their work too. I cannot, in good conscious, recommend this location. Do not trust any statement coming from their managers at all. They are named **** and maybe *****. Frankly, are patronizing people who obviously do not care about getting a job (overpriced as I have come to find out from a different repair location) done. Go somewhere else and save the hassle of dealing with these people!

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention.  We apologize for any inconvenience and dissatisfaction you may have experienced with our repair center.

After further review of your experience, we regret we were unable to meet the completion commitments we made.  We could have been more proactive with our communications in regard to delays impacting the completion of the work.  As with all our customers, timeliness is critical but more importantly is making sure the job is done right, the first time.  We source and utilize only the best parts and services and unfortunately in your case the job was significantly delayed because the parts needed were delayed.  These types of delays are difficult to foresee and account for and we regret that it impacted your experience with us.

Again, we appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention and apologize for the communication issues you experienced with us.

I took my car for a oil change on 04/05/2023 at *** Wiens **** S Fort Apache Rd complete auto. They charged me for synthetic oil priced at $84.95 and oil filter change so a few weeks went by and I noticed the car was running rough and smoke coming out the exhaust so I took the car to Sun Auto Service. 1.5 mi **** W Tropicana Ave They called me after I left the car and said who ever did your oil change messed up your vehicle the put 3 to 4 Quarts over in your vehicle and messed up your head gasket and cylinder all is flooded with oil and its getting into your exhaust thats why you have smoke coming out. Now I have a brand new ****** Pathfinder with all sorts of problems because of *** Wiens so I called *** Wiens and told them what happened, they told me to bring my car in and they will fix it for free no questions asked. So I took the car there and they kept my car over three hours and never checked it in. so I called them to see what was going on. Then they placed me on hold and put the tech on the phone, who was very rude and using profanity toward me saying my car wasnt over it was under and that I just need to pass smog so we was going back in forwards arguing he was basically calling me a liar. So I got upset and told him to put the person that transferred me back on the phone. And explain everything the tech said so he replied sorry dont worry we will get it fixed for free and they will call Sun auto again and figure it out and get it fixed. So I waited 1 hour and called them again they said they almost done. but after that call I got a message saying my car was barely checked in after so many hours took my car around 2 pm and it was now 5pm and they close at 5:30 so at this point I felt like they was lying to me so I got a ride back up there arrived right at 5:28 to see my car in the parking lot so I went inside and they told me they change the oil again and its fixed. To my surprise the car wasnt fixed because when I got home the oil was still dirty and the oil was still three to four quarts over flooded so they basically wasted my Time and didnt fix anything now we cant drive the car at all have to find other transportation to work now the vehicle just sitting not moving at all 2019 ****** Pathfinder. The Tech need to be fired and they are responsible for everything that goes wrong with my vehicles because over flooding a customer vehicle can cause major problems now and in the future. At this point I feel like they did so much damage they should replace my whole vehicle.

After a thorough review of this complaint, we had many discussions with our management team and determined the actions taken to service this vehicle were appropriate for the circumstances.
A recap is as follows, The customer came in on 04/05/23 for an oil change. About a month later, on 05/04/23, the customer called stating his vehicle was overfilled and was smoking while driving. We contacted the shop the vehicle was located at and, with the customers permission, had it towed to our shop at no cost to the customer. We drained the oil from the engine into a 7-quart bucket to accurately measure and document how much oil was in the engine. We found only 3.5 quarts in the engine, which is one quart low. The oil may need to sit for a few minutes and be dipped several times before getting an accurate reading. We refilled the engine to the correct capacity at no cost and showed the customer the dipstick was reading full.We documented this on the invoice from 05/04/23 and notified him there was an oil consumption issue, which will cause the motor to blow smoke from the tailpipe after sitting for a period of time.
We stand behind the actions taken during this interaction,as they followed all company policies to ensure the oil change was done correctly.

I was passing through Las Vegas in my van and the check engine light started flashing. Immediately I parked and the next morning got towed in to *** Wiens located at **** S Eastern Ave (*****). The shop assessed the damage and said it should take about 3-5 days to fix.It ended up taking over 8 days and the issue was far from fixed, in fact it was actually made worse. After paying $4,482.84 and 8 days of waiting and paying for hotels my check engine light was still on. The shop wanted to spend 10 hours taking apart the engine block to see if they could find a problem there. At this point I had lost trust and wanted to get moving on. I asked if they thought the van was in good enough shape to make it back home and they said "yes". After leaving the shop, within 20 minutes the van completely broke down even worse than before. I was left stranded in a busy intersection; honked at, unable to roll down windows, on a hot day with my dogs in the car. It took an hour to get a tow, and when I did I took it in to the Ram dealership this time. The Ram service center was able to quickly assess the problem, and determined that *** Wiens "really messed up" their work, which ended up causing even more damage to my vehicle. They said:We found engine wire harness exposed and sitting on top of coolant crossover metal pipe wires melted causing short circuit codes.. We believe this is what caused the alternator to short circuit as well as the wiring in said harness is connected to the alternator. It appears the catalytic converter is new and we believe the wiring was routed incorrectly while that repair was performed as there would be no other reason to move said harness.I tried to contact *** Wiens for a refund for the damage they caused, but the shop refused to take responsibility. I have photo evidence of the shoddy work and expert mechanics from the dealership service center willing to testify in court, which sounds like the route I'll need to go to resolve this issue.

Over charged by $500 since I have now found other companied charging less.My vehicle being a newer vehicle didn't require some of the things I was charged for. Not only did they make issues, they found other things to charge me for that really wasn't necessary. I lost over $1300 dealing with this company...So disgusted and disappointed, I contacted other companies and received two BRAKE INSPECTIONS and they both explained how I was scammed by "Ted Wiens Complete Auto Service!" I contacted the **************** that is here in Las Vegas on ******* and spoke to *********. I lost money by TRUSTING THIS FRADULENT COMPANY AND NOW I AM losing money due to this fraudulent company! Who's going to reimburse me on the money I lost today 02/03/23? My complaints will not stop until I have the repairs I paid for AND REIMBURSEMENT FOR BEING CHARGED FOR UNNECESSARY THINGS or better yet A FULL REFUND since the trust is now lost and I need professionals to repair my vehicle... After a thorough review of the complaint and discussions with our management team, the steps taken to repair the vehicle were appropriate in nature.

To recap the actions taken in this instant, the vehicle was ****** in because it was running rough with a check engine light.  We informed the customer that we needed to remove the intake manifold for further inspection of the *** Solenoids and continue with the diagnostic.  Approval was given for additional labor and once the intake manifold was removed, we attempted to remove the solenoids and one broke with *************** debris attached to it (picture attached). At this point based on the condition of the solenoid that we removed; we notified the customer that there might be internal engine damage. The customer agreed and said based on their own research, these engines were known for this problem. We recommended replacing all 4 solenoids and gave him a total quote of approximately $2700 to complete the job. At this time the repairs were authorized, and we continued. Once the repairs were completed, we test drove the vehicle and had no issues. The next day we were notified that the vehicle was running rough again, so we invited them to bring the vehicle back to the store.  The vehicle was brought back the following Monday and misfire codes were found and it was determined that the vehicle definitely had internal engine problems, confirming the suspected finding based on broken solenoid and metal shavings.

We stand behind our initial actions and parts replacement, as they were needed prior to condemning the engine.

      Complaint: 18480176

I am rejecting this response because they are simply restating everything we already stated in the initial complaint. We had already submitted the invoices with what was done. We never disputed that. *** Wiens has not addressed the fact that *********************** reported to ****** at *** Wiens that the coils, plugs and cylinder 1 injector had already been replaced and suspected the cam and lifters were damaged. At the initial drop off, ***** verified and confirmed that *** Wiens could diagnosis the cam and lifters and replace them once that was determined to be the issue. They never even diagnosed or looked at the cam and lifters and instead replaced parts that were not the issue. After being at *** Wiens for nearly 2 weeks and having paid $2,794.47, the vehicle was diagnosed with exactly what was reported by ***********************. The issue remains that *** Wiens is stating that they do not replace cam and lifters even though they had no problem taking the vehicle in when we reported that the cam and lifters would need to be replaced. If they did not replace cam and lifters, why even make an appointment or begin service? We have paid $2,794.47 for a repair that did not repair the vehicle. They never even looked into the issue we reported and instead replaced parts that *** not have needed to be replaced and now refuse to address the issue or acknowledge responsibility. It seems as if ***************************** lied to us initially and then baited us into paying for $2,794.47 worth of repairs that were not the issue.

      Sincerely,

      ***** and ***********************

On 09/19/2022 I took my vehicle into *** Wiens Craig Road location because my Tire Pressure Monitor sensor was activated on my dash. After talking to the service rep and trying to tell him the the vehicle info had been put into their system incorrectly. I told him there was an issue with the driver front left tire showing lower air pressure and more air had been put in the tire several days before. I had put 4 new tires on this vehicle in July and it was approx. **** miles put on them. A check was finally initiated and the service rep told me it would cost me $147.74 to replace the sensor. I asked how could it cost more to replace one sensor when I had put on 4 new tires which that cost was $111.80. I inquired as to what was the **** Kit($24) and the installation package($75) then an additional charge of $25 to reset the ****. I asked why was there an additional charge for something that was installed, wouldn't that include resetting the sensors to a working state. At this point I have now paid more for the sensors that a new tire. After having dealt with this business several times, I have come to the conclusion that they care nothing about having a repeat customer or providing good customer service. The end result was that supposedly the "RIGHT REAR SENSOR" was faulty and not the "DRIVERS LEFT FRONT" as specified by the vehicle information. I checked at another *** Wiens location about this issue and was advised that the sensors probably wasn't set correctly when they were initially installed with the new tires. Eventually causing the error message to come up...on the drivers left front tire. With the initial cost of $111.80 and now the $147.70 it has cost me a total of $259.50 for the sensors for my vehicle at this business. Sensor($90), Labor($24), reset Sensor($25). Make matters even worse the *** told me I didn't have any work done at the location. With so few miles put on the tires a reasonable outcome was sought not a more costly one.

Customer purchased tires through *********com and had them sent to the *** Wiens Craig Road location to be installed. Installation including the **** kits were purchased through ********* **** kits are seals and valve cores not actual sensors. The 4 new tires and **** kits were installed on 7/2/2022 at ****** miles.  Customer returned on 9/19/2022 at ****** miles with the **** light on the dash at which time a faulty sensor was found. **** sensors are battery operated and have a life expectance average of 5 to 7 years. Customer was charged for a sensor, installation and reset at a cost of $147.74.  We are willing to reimburse the customer in good faith the $147.74. We appreciate our customers and their business but, please keep in mind the other sensors will also fail as the batteries run out.
