I have used several towing companies in Southern Nevada, but none compares with Ewing Brothers Towing. Every business needs a towing company from time to time and I have used them on several occasions. They are on-time and efficient. They can tow vehicles of all size. I strongly recommend Ewing Brothers Towing.

Poor policies by Ewing Brothers (EB). Our son was robbed at gunpoint in Vegas, where they took his phone, wallet, and the car we were loaning him. LVPD found his car two days later abandoned at the side of the road. They called EB to tow it for investigation. Once LVPD was done dusting for prints, they had the car towed to the EB impound yard. This is where things go off the rails. LVPD released the car to EB, stating it was no longer needed as evidence. We should have been able to pick it up at that point, but due to a clerical error on their part, EB marked the car as "unreleased." After spending many hours trying to get a hold of someone at LVPD, I was given a case number and told to contact EB about the vehicle. I spoke with one of the ladies at EB on September 2 about when we could pick it up. She said it was still on hold and the LVPD would contact us when it would be released. So we waited. Finally, after two weeks we got a certified letter in the mail from EB stating we needed to pick our car up IMMEDIATELY or they would sell it at auction. And in order to pick the car up, we owed them $900! Obviously, we were a bit surprised because they had told us we would be notified when to come and pick it up. We called EB and they said, "no, LVPD released the car when it was impounded." I told them that's not what they said and they blamed it on a clerical error. I asked them to backdate the charges to the date I called them and they had said the car was still on hold. They said that it wasn't their problem and if we wanted the car, it was going to cost us $900. Fantastic business ya got there guys! Looks like a scam if I ever saw one. Taking advantage of people in their worst moments. Looks like criminals ain't just the ones holding ya up at gunpoint! Much luck if you have to deal with these people. We understand the emotional situation and sincerely sympathize with the events of the vehicle being stolen.  The police department did not release the hold on your vehicle until 9/13/2023. 

Yes, there was a clerical error in the fact that the hold was not placed in the system but did exist.  We can only release a hold by direct authorization from the police department.   

Nevada Law requires an impound facility to send notifications to legal owners that the vehicle is in our facility whether it is allowed for pick up or not.  That is the letter you received. 

Our manager contacted the police department as courtesy upon notification that you were on the way from out of state.  He inquired if the vehicle had been processed and only then did the police department authorized release of that hold on 9/13/2023 - 12 days after recovery.

We were not able to decrease the charges because the vehicle was held for safe keeping as required by the police department.

Again we are sorry this happened to you.

 

If I could give negative stars I would. I had a car towed into this facility with over 4000 dollars worth of company information and product including multiple debit cards along with my personal identification cards including drivers license, work ID, and ssc. The managers are incredibly difficult to get a hold of and no one seems to care or understand that I am in danger of being terminated if the company products are not found and returned. I spoke with some bimbo at the front desk who decided to give me an attitude and practically tell me that they weren't going to take my case seriously. So to anyone who wants to do business with this company. Absolutely do not. To this fo there hasn't been a conclusion and now my lively hood is at risk because someone decided to steal **** that wasn't theirs to take.

They stole money and tools from my truck that was towed by them. Money included my 2 year old daughter's piggy bank and $1000+ in business checks and cash payments from my customers. Tools stolen value $1500+. These tools I used to operate my business. Very rude customer service.

I don't even give this company a1 star. This company is very unprofessional and don't treat customers with respect. Once your vehicle's towed there they can careless. My truck was stolen twice and towed to this company. I tried to show ownership they wouldn't look at. I filed 3 police reports. I never got my truck back. If they took one second to look at bill of sell they notice 3 different signature on it.I think the BBB is on there side. Ewing bros must pay them off like the police. This company needs a serious investigation on who works there and how they run there company and there paperwork. What company gives a stolen vehicle to a person who is a car thief. They didn't give me a chance to show proof. Manager told me to file police report. Yeah you are such a great manager must known the thief that they gave my truck to. Remember gold 2003 ford tundra then it got painted black. First got inponded on may ,31 2021. Then again June 19 2021. Check your paper work. I don't even wanna give this company a star. Zero in my eyes

Ewing Bros., Inc. is sympathetic to this customer's unfortunate situation. 

We as an impound facility must adhere to the strict requirements for ownership.   We acted appropriately in this situation.

 

This company is the most horrible tow yard ever they will keep the most irreplaceable belongs so if u ever get towed make sure that they don't keep your pets ashes I hope they can honestly sleep at night they show no compassion what so ever this company should be shut down for ever

We sympathize with this person but with the limited information provided, we cannot determine the circumstances of this complaint. Proper documentation of ownership of the vehicle would allow retrieval of property or of the vehicle itself. Unfortunately without that, no property can be released.
