We did a complete re-roof of our house. The contractor did not have a permit and did not follow the contract and now we had leaks that did damage to our house. We had the contractors board step in for a while twice and both times the contractor has made repairs. At this time we still have a contract that was not followed, a bad roof with many problems, and lots of damage to our house done by the contractor as well as from the leaks. We also have in writing that we have a ten year workmanship warranty and this should be with ******************. The contractor has to register this warranty, we can not. The contractor we hired was found on ***** Corning website of preferred contractors. They are able to offer this warranty and this is why we hired them and had it in writing but this contractor refuses to register this warranty for us.Business response

Homeowner had put in a complaint to ***************** due to us not honoring our warranty. Homeowner only informed us one time that he had a leak. We went out and determined it was the ** leaking. Homeowner never advised us that there was still a problem before getting the contractors board out to the property. Once contractor board came out, he asked us to repair the area around the **, which we did. Homeowner complained later to contractor board that he now had a leak in the living room. After meeting contractor board and homeowner on property and water testing area of concern, there was absolutely no leak.
Contractor Board has currently closed out this case, stating that we have done everything within our contract and the case is closed.Customer response

We have already been out multiple times to this homeowners house to correct any issues that were done during inital install. So clearly we have been honoring our ten year workmanship warranty. Also, we have contractors board letter stating this case has been closed that we are waiting to receive.
Furthermore, I have reached out to ***** Corning corporate department in regards to warranty and I've attached a screen shot proving that we are not required to provide their extended warranty that we do not sell.
I am also copying below my direct response from ***** Corning rep.******, If you go to the ****** search for ***** Corning warranty you get to our site, There is a drop down question/answer which says as a preferred contractor you are authorized to offer extended warranties,
Not Required to. The home owner or the BBB can also can our call warranty department directly at 1800ROOFING and they will tell them that is an option to include an extended warranty. There is also certain products that must be used to achieve those warranty requirements. They dont allow me to write letters if the above doesnt work I can try and get corporate to write one . Let me knowThis is direct from ***** Corning and I encourage homeowner and Better Business Bureau to call this number to confirm this info I'm providing. Homeowner is making false accusations that he is not correctly informed on and someone needs to follow up directly with this info I'm providing to confirm that we are NOT required to provide him with ****** Cornings extended warranty.
As it stands right now, we installed a 30 year shingle on his roof and he is more than welcome AND encouraged to go online to *****' Corning website and register for his 30 year limited lifetime PRODUCT WARRANTY for the shingles that he purchased and that we installed his roof.
Anything other than the PRODUCT WARRANTY was not sold to customer.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:There are many problems with our roof still and and there is damage to our house from this contractor's job. They do not have a license to do the chimney work and they have damaged our chimney. They have damaged our roof curb that our air conditioner sits on. We have water damages in our house that they will not take responsibility for and they state it would not be covered by their workmanship warranty anyway. We also want the *********************** extended warranty and workmanship warranty as discussed with our contractor.
