Grush included erroneous and unsubstantiated allegations in a home inspection procured by buyers or buyers agents that resulted the seller in possession of an erroneous inspection report. The seller is now recovering from the fall out of a sale predicated on an erroneous report and unprofessional home inspector. Seller is also now tasked with repairs that have no basis in fact.

It is not possible to properly respond to this complaint as there are no specific details.  After reviewing the inspection report, I found nothing that would indicate what the seller is claiming.  Furthermore, we do not fabricate problems to bolster a report.  Our main concern is health and safety which several items noted in the report related to such.  In addition, if repairs are being completed based on the report than I feel somebody other than the inspector feels they are warranted.

There is nothing to settle with this complaintant.  I neglected to say in my original response that Mr. ********** is NOT a client of our company.  He received an inspection report on his home that was contracted with the potential buyer.  It appears he is upset that the sale fell through, however, it was not due to this inspection report.

As for me being uncooperative, the following is not verbatim and condensed.  Mr. ********** began our conversation demanding my license number.  He provided no information regarding the reason for the call.  He continually badgered me about license numbers.  I kept asking what he was upset about.  He finally said that the report he had been given was erroneous and unprofessional.  I asked for specifics while he continued to ask for license numbers.  We eventually got to the report starting on page 2.  His first two questions regarded standard narratives included in most reports.  The first he believed to mislead readers which it does not.  The second he felt just did not belong but is standard terminology in the industry.

With regards to the inspector leaving the furnace electrical cover off, Mr. ********** told me of the situation and asked what was to be done about it.  I responded that he could replace it himself, which he than cut me off before I could tell him, or we could come and replace it for him.  Later I spoke with the inspector and he remembered replacing the cover, however, it was difficult and did not easily go on so he believes it may have fell off.  Nonetheless, Mr. ********** could not get over the fact that I suggested he could replace it himself.

We were not able to get beyond page 2 of the report because he didn't care for the answers he was receiving.  This is a matter of a seller being upset over a lost sale and looking for a scapegoat.  Lastly, Mr. ********** was present during the inspection and the verbal summary at the end.  He was well aware of many of the defects or issues discovered during the inspection and apparently spoke to some of them.

This complaint is frivolous and without merit.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

Because Mr. G****’s response contains untrue statements and outright fabrications

      Sincerely,
