I signed up to this matchmaking company, fully able to find companionship on my own. I was really looking forward to opening up some new possibilities. I wanted to try to find an active, adventurous person. I conveyed that to the person giving the interview. I’ve received two matches from them. One was a bartending snow bum. Not a bad guy but I neither drink nor snowboard. My second match was with a premium insurance auditor with a fused ankle, loves to antique and does absolutely nothing else. I was genuinely offended. I stated in the interview that I’m very active, I love yoga, don’t drink, don’t watch television and am looking for a like person. When I called to complain I was given the run around and actually yelled at. I want my money back. They didn’t and still have t fulfilled their contract. There wasn’t even an effort to properly fulfill my expectations. It’s like they found a person with a penis, close to the same age and made their decision that way. No thought or other effort went into the process. That’s not matchmaking.

I signed up with "Sierra Matchmakers" on May 30, and paid $7,995. They committed to 12 matches. However, "Sierra Matchmakers" is a fake organization. All it really is is a sales office for another company called **** **** ******** It is a front, intended to deceive customers thinking this is a local organization with an intimate understanding of the needs of local residents. They also explained that everything is done in person, and is not algorithmic, but very much a human process. I was given a cursory interview and some forms to fill out, which skimmed the surface of the intimate details they would need to effectively match me for dates. I was assured this was just to get them started, and there would soon be a much more thorough interview. All of the above turned out to be completely false and misleading. Once I signed on the dotted line, "Sierra Matchmakers" simply vanished and was replaced with **** **** ********** who are located who-knows-where. There was not to be any thorough interview. The only basis they had for finding matches for me was a few forms I'd filled out. I struggled for a week to get a manager on the phone. They were shifty with their answers. When I requested a refund, things got even more bizarre. They ignored my requests for a refund, responding as if I hadn't done so, then later pretended this was evidence of being extremely communicative. All I want is a refund. If this were a legitimate business, they would respect their customers, and if they change their mind before the process even begins, they would happily refund their money. The only type of business that would force their new clients to not only continue using the service, but to work with a matchmaker they are extremely uncomfortable with, is a con. I am now convinced this entire business is a con. I have a feeling this happens to them a lot, and the way they make their money is through deception and forced patronage of unwilling customers.

I contracted with this company one year ago for 7 matches. This cost me $4000. In the past year they have called me 3 times with Matches. I am seeking half my money back. I feel one year is enough time and the contract said they would be doing at least one match per month. This obviously did not happen.
