I paid last April to have my car repaired and the owner of the shop was deceptive from the start. His name is Doug and he has lied to me about my car’s status and what repairs it needs for as long as I can tolerate. First he said it needed a starter and I paid him for it but that didn’t fix my car. He told me that my car would be broken into at his shop but I also that I don’t have a choice or right to protect my vehicle. Doug refused to give me a written estimate or even do an inspection on my car. I told him in April of 2021 to repair my car and I do not care what it costs and that I will compensate him financially at full cost for any and all repairs. I have asked him several times every month to give me a proper estimate and he says something different every time so I have repeatedly told him to fix my car regardless of the cost and just to bill me. Doug has refused to repair my car because he claims that there are different repairs it needs every time I speak to him. First it was that I needed an engine swap or that I could pay him to rebuild it. Then he told me that it was a valve that needed replacing but he wouldn’t give me an estimate. Then he said he wasn’t sure if it was a valve because his “scope” broke so he can’t let me know until he gets a new one. Then it was just ignoring my calls and having me speak to receptionists that said he was not in. For months I pursued contacting him and I called him from a changed number and told him just to repair the car regardless of what it needs. He told me he needed to go get parts and that he would call me back. I have now communicated that I would be seeking legal help and filing a complaint to which he responded that he is now “no longer interested in repairing my car” and now is demanding storage fees or threatening to have my car impounded by the sheriff. If so I would gladly pay for either, I really need my vehicle back and I would love to have it repaired… I am committed to resolution.
