On 7/12/23 I made a payment by clicking the option to pay the past due amount. On the morning of 7/19 I paid the amount for the next billing cycle. Approx 3 hours after that payment I found that my water had been disconnected. After I contacted SVGID and questioned why my water had been disconnected I was informed that the correct amount had not been paid on 7/12 and I had $20 still owing. I explained numerous times that I clicked the button marked for the past due balance. I was informed it was my fault and I would be charged an additional $45 reconnect and late fees. This was no fault of mine as I made the payment in plenty of time with an additional being done as well.Initial Complaint

Utility company will not accept auto payments, we cannot purchase service from other sources. They will not notify clients of late payment and they purposely turn off service late on the day-forcing customers to pay an “after hours” fee of 100+ dollars each time you are even 1 day late. For a utility company to operate in this manner seems unreasonable and highly suspect. Please investigate and require them to operate as a normal agency and stop the malicious cash grabbing.
