Had Bid-Well install a front storm door for me from VALU on or about June 18, 2021. As they were getting in truck to leave, I said I would try the door. Door did not close and it hit the door jam. They immediately got out and worked on the door to get it to close properly. Door was okay through mid winter when door began to hit jam again. Spoke with Joanna who thought I had a door shock absorber adjust problem (it isn’t), She informed me that they would have to charge me to come out, which I object to. I sent an email on Monday, June 13, 2022 to [email protected] and have not heard any reply. Big-Well has actually installed a total of 4 storm doors on my home over the years and I have had very good experiences with them. I have nothing bad to say about them and am somewhat irritated that they want money to come back out and address a door fit issue that (almost certainly because of their expertise) will not take much time to fix. I indicated in my email to them that this was not an emergency and I know that this is the busy construction season. I have never had storm door problems like this after having many storm doors on the house. Willing to send you a forwarded copy of my email if you like. This is my first time using the BBB and I would prefer not to go this route. Requesting they please fix/adjust the door. Selected Finish the Job in the system as the closest match. We serviced ****** ************ door on July 16, 2022. We found that it was in need of a seasonal adjustment and were able to service at no charge, even though the labor was out of warranty. Bob seemed to be pleased with the service and was going to update his complaint as well. He was advised that the door will periodically need seasonal adjustments that is to be performed by the homeowner or we can come out for a Spring/Fall Tuneup and there is a cost for the service.Customer response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. The company is an owner/operator business and they were very conscientious and caring regarding the quality of their work. I would gladly use them again and this cannot be said about some other businesses that I have had experiences with. I would recommend them to other home owners without hesitation.
