Date of the service was 3/20/23 My wife took her car in for a NYS inspection, the technician lied about her lower control arm needing to be replaced for $900 to pass the inspection. I am very well experienced with NYS inspections and can confirm this part was in no way faulty or worn at all. My wife declined the service. The technician changed their tone and decided not to charge her for the NYS inspection (illegal) and to leave the sticker on the vehicle although it failed (illegal) and did not issue a receipt. I took the vehicle to another authorized NYS inspection site and the vehicle passed without any work being done. The technician at this new place confirmed my suspicion that there was nothing wrong with the part. When confronted with this information, Northtown Subaru said that I never had an appointment at their dealership and there was no paperwork or notes about the transaction. They brushed it off telling me that I must have imagined it. What they are doing is fraud.Business response

On March 20th customer Mrs. ***** came in for Nysi, at that time Northtown did a cursory inspection as a courtesy without charge. Our technician found the control arm bushing were worn and conveyed that to the customer. Customer took the vehicle with us completing the inspection
