one of the best kept secrets in the southtowns. Ive been going to Turtles since its inception on Rte 62, Trucks cars and anything with an engine. He makes it hard to go anywhere else by undercutting competition by at least HALF what they charge. The lead Mechanic knows his **** and is well versed in *************** and **********. Its a dog eat dog business and sure out of thousands of customers someones going to complain, what they dont tell you when they yell "I was ripped off!" (didnt pay anything tho) like the example previous, car needed ball joints? did you have them done? NO? then whats the issue? some cars clear codes quickly, some take several cycles. ill bet the Oil change and inspection cost a whopping 30 bucks and whatever the insane, or 1/3 of what 99% of other shops charge.(Oil change is $14.95 and inspections are $10) I know the mechanics by name, and they are all top notch lifelong guys. if they say you need something, you need it. for instance a ball joint. probably under 100 bucks all in, and it probably has movement. if theres any lateral movement it is defective and should not pass NYSI. Some shops will pass ball joints with 1/4 to 1/2 inch movement. some wont. I fully expect, no i DEMAND that any little issue be noted or resolved. with the extent of driving we do and the fear of breakdowns (* has gone severely downhill recently) i want anything fixed. some people dont want anything fixed. And that is the issue. Ive gone no where else for a decade and dont regret it. Check them out and make your own decision. They are a BUSY shop due to their quality of work and low pricing. Dont expect to walk in and be coddled and hold hands with your mechanic. this isnt *****, this is a busy shop with 2 to 4 mechanics working at any time. One thing they will do is resolve the issues, note any new ones, and when done youll have alot more $$ in your bank account than if you would have taken it to anywhere else. try em out. youll love it.
