Insurance company is acting in bad faith. It was agree upon that weather made the damage to a ridge cap which caused water to leak into my upstairs bedroom and hallway ceilings. I have RCV on my policy and these ridge caps are connected and overlap by approximately a half foot. The damage obviously tugged on the entire line of ridge caps. The insurance adjuster told me he knew my roof was put on before a certain date because using staples wouldn’t be in compliance with today’s standards. So virtually they are asking my contractor to “patch” a section that is connected to a whole out of compliance has it appears.The remaining ridge cap would most certainly not be replaced in “uniformity”. It’s all in a line of sight in the same section. It would absolutely look different than the rest of the roof. In the same sense it was agreed upon that the upstairs ceiling would be uniformity replaced for purposes of a patch job looking different. The insurance adjuster was very pleasant (day of inspection and initial call) until I showed discontent with his appraisal at which time he became, frankly rude.He told me he thought the estimate was more than reasonable for the damage on the day he left site.He also tried to scare and bully me by mentioning fraud even though he told me originally the estimate of $2,770 was very reasonable via the contractor. The person “Jim”, I spoke with at Midstate also agree his wording of fraud was not the proper word to bring into the conversation.The adjuster told me I was trying to pick a fight and ended our conversation. Jim tried to offer a small solution admitting at least a second section would be something they’d pay for. He also appeared irritated with my 10-15 minute conversation and stated this is the way it would be and ended the conversation not even adding in the extra section. To add to this, I’ve since been rejected on a supplemental to redo the job as a whole instead of patching the interior roof. Thank for any help prior to sm clms
