The diesel shop was chosen by retailer ******* ************ to have turbo charger warranty done on my truck, going with the diesel shop they stated all services would be covered unless I went else where they wouldnt be covered. The diesel shop performed services on vehicle that was not discussed/necessary and got charged for parts and labor of job that I did not approve of. The shop screwed up exhaust manifold on my truck while doing a turbo warranty job, making the manifold unsalvageable and had to replace it. Turn around they said I was the one responsible for paying for the exhaust manifold and labor that went with it when it was soly on them for screwing up the part. Studs and manifold did not need to come apart as stated by "Scott" of the diesel shop. Took them 1 month to do the job, Only reason went with this shop was because of ****** *********** setting up the work to be done. All came down to when the time came for me to pick up my truck , words were exchanged and shop didn't care me being out all the extra money and charging me, ripping me off. He stated " he's not in the business of giving away free parts" when they screwed it up. Ended up having to pay otherwise wouldn't of been able to get my truck back technically. Have a family and two young kids so needed it back being out a truck that long. Also finally getting truck home next day take a look in engine bay and the parts that were installed were leaking oil and loose! Luckily I am mechanically inclined to do a once over look at the parts serviced. If had not caught the oil leak could of caused a major fire in engine bay destroying the truck. Oil leak also could of lead to another part failure not properly lubricating the turbo bearings.Business response

We recieved a call from ****** asking if we could work on a customers job for a problem with a turbo they sold a customer. When we agreed to take on the job, ****** was supposed to cover the bill and not the customer as was described by "**** *" at ******... We agreed to do the job. We diagnosed it and found the turbo was the issue. ****** sent a new turbo to be replaced after we had to send the old one back-All of this took time with shipping. In the kit with the turbo, new studs are supplied for replacement. Upon removal the stud snapped in the manifold (very common which is why they come with it). We advised the customer of the stud snapping, and that we would try to drill and extract-If it doesnt come out removal and repalcement would be needed. Unsuccessful on removal of broken stud, and now we will need to replace the manifold. Customer approved replacement of manifold. We gave option to customer for him to try and remove the stud since he worked at a machine shop and stated he could get it out, he stated it wasn't worth it because of the time frame of him traveling back and forth and his time to remove and decided it was best to get new manifold. Shipping took a couple days for manifold to come in. As soon as it showed up we started the installation process. After install was completed, we test drove the vehicle and perform check over after install. No issues were found, no leaks and everything was working fine. When we were done with the job, we notified ****** it was time for payment so we can notify customer of completed vehicle and they said "all we do is store credit, and that goes to the customer" So someone at ****** named "*****" told ***** at The Diesel Shop they would cover the bill and when it came time to pay the bill ****** offered the customer credit towards more parts in the future. This is not how we work, the vehicle needed to get paid for before it left our facility. We do not do things for free or we would fail. At this point, the customer was to pay The Diesel Shop LLC for the repairs The Diesel Shop LLC completed and then he could hash it out the difference with ****** about their agreement they discussed. We simply performed the repairs needed to get the vehicle corrected and back on the road. This is a pretty unfair complaint, and it sounds like this should be directed towards ****** and NOT towards The Diesel Shop LLCCustomer response

It's absolute b******* of the diesel shop trying to pull this off that I had to pay for the manifold when they messed it up! They need better mechanics that aren't HACKS , destroy peoples stuff then make them pay for it. They are trying to use the excuse that it was part of "procedure" to replace the studs when that is absolutely NOT the case. You can call any other shop and ask. There are 3 studs that go into the turbo and one that STAYS in the exhaust manifold. You can replace the bolts on the turbo flange but the one on the manifold does not come out hense why they hacked it up n make it not use able. Once at the shop to pick up my truck I asked for the manifold and there is no saying it once I saw it. The mounting flange is completely warped from them trying to weld and heat it up. Plus breaking multiple extractors in the manifold. Onto other issues, leaking oil feed line, (see attached photo) which is routed up to the turbo completely wrong, along with the turbo speed sensor routed wrong, they say there were no leaks b******* doubt they even checked, that picture was taken the next day after getting the truck home so if I wouldn't of checked over their work, it would of been even worse, the nut on the bajo bolt was a half turn loose. And lastly my truck has a very bad vibration since leaving their shop, when sitting at idle and in traffic coming to a stop, my exhaust is resting right on/against the frame of my truck so it was re-attached wrong. Which will need to be fixed also. (See picture). The exhaust fits in their just fine before with no vibrations. I was referred to this shop by ****** *********** when originally trying to get the turbo warranty taking care of, ****** told me if I went to the shop of their choice (the diesel shop) it would all be covered. ****** reached out once off the phone with me and spoke with the diesel shop and set everything up to be covered/repaired. Mind you this shop is over 45mins away for me. I have my own diesel truck shop locally that I go to and use regularly who I originally wanted to do the work but ****** decided against that. (********** **** *******) Being out this money is absolute wrong and I will not stop fighting to get my money back.Business response

The customer says it all right here... "I was referred to this shop by ****** *********** when originally trying to get the turbo warranty taking care of, ****** told me if I went to the shop of their choice (the diesel shop) it would all be covered. ****** reached out once off the phone with me and spoke with the diesel shop and set everything up to be covered/repaired." The customer needs to tell ****** to cover it. We are not a shop that works on things for free. If you remove a part and other parts connecting to it are worn and they break it is not our fault they need to be replaced. We were very fair and communicative. The manifold is a common issue when removing turbos and needs to be replaced often-but not always. Unfortunately in this case we tried to salvage it, the customer was notified then he said he could get it out himeself...we allowed this option but then the customer stated it was wiser to just get a new one due to time. The customer will not get a refund from us, we did our job. The customer needs to get reimbursed by ****** if that's what they discussed. Sorry.
