Rodick Construction was contracted to put a concrete patio, sidewalk and step in the back of my home. It started May 19, 2023. Concrete was poured the week of May 21. The job did not come out correctly. Adam, the owner and I both agreed that the job was unacceptable. He apologized and agreed that that he would return to remove and replace the faulty concrete patio. Initially, i thought only part of it needed to be replaced, but I after looking at it more closely and being shown additional issues/ defects, the entire patio needs to be removed and replaced. Adam provided me with several different dates over the summer and fall that he was going to attempt to remedy the patio issue. However, he apologetically has cancelled multiple times providing different reasons each time why he could not get the job done ranging from other jobs taking longer to complete, rain, not being able to get concrete or pump truck, his truck was broke, and he had a flat tire on his trailer. On Nov. 5th I texted trying again for solid date to remedy the patio. There was no response for 3 weeks. When I texted him, yet again on 11/27 to convey my concern and disappointment, he finally responded. On 11/29 he texted apologizing for not getting back to me and that he had been busy working, that he would put something in writing about what happened and that he would take responsibility and agree to remedy the patio situation suggesting spring 2024. So, I was willing to work with him and asked him to put specific things in writing re; the patio as it ALL needs to be removed and replaced and pump truck utilized because the driveway did crack and get damaged with the initial "job" and will get damaged again if we do not utilize a pump truck. I requested that patio be replaced by 5/1/24 and that he email me the document by 12/5/2023. As of today, I have not received anything from him. Please keep in mind, It has been over 6 months since the initial "job" and I am very frustrated. He managed to get other jobs completed, but not mine. I was really hoping to remedy this collaboratively and positively, but no response again since 11/29 to the request to put it in writing to remedy. It will cost a great deal more if someone else does the work as it will require excavation and replacement of patio that was not there prior, only grass. I am happy to furnish additional info. (texts & pics as needed). Thank you for you assistance in this matter.

Rodick premium construction & restorations brought to the customers attention at the end of the project that the slab was not visually acceptable by Contractor's standards. Once brought to the customers attention, contractor proceeded by his own acceptance gave options to the customer on ways to go about fixing the visual fault. Both Customer and Contractor agreed uplink pouring over existing slab and finishing it to proper satisfaction. The only portion of the project agreed to by contractor to be ripped out was a 5 x 8 sidewalk that needs to be level with the driveway. Pouring 3 inches over the existing slab. The visual fault was due to high temperatures (above 90 and high humidity), unforeseen lack of staffing (due to call outs with the heat) and against the Contractors Original Suggestion the customer did not accept the contract including the pump for the concrete truck that makes concrete pour more efficient   Customer did not agree to pump and and was previously included in contract but removed to meet the customers wishes and concerns (damages to driveway from driving on it ect., and other personal matters due to this manual labor was agreed upon. If it was pumped this would not have happened. All of the above was also agreed upon by the customers brother whom she had call me because I could not answer my phone earlier that day due to being with another customer. Although even he understood and the conversation went smoothly after he understood all the circumstances and the agreement made, it is very upsetting that with almost constant communication with the Customer through texts, calls, unknown numbers ect and constant reassurance that I would then have my reputation attacked and my character completely is represented. Thankfully though even he agreed and then she was content that we would pour over the slab by spring. Until nov 29th owner agreed to use the pump and agreed to pay additional cost for the pump and contractor would pay for concrete as agreed upon multiple times with customer. As of the end of November Customer wanted to go back on that agreement. Unfortunately, it was at this time my partner fell ill to respiratory virus, as did I. Which resulted in both my partner and I being very ill for weeks and then my partner worsening to pneumonia and unable to care for themself. This is also the reason for late response and lack of response to the customer as well, as we are just starting to recover. I have even already brought material and forms to the project location along with my own personal outdoor area rugs for when customer was having a get together and i had offered to help her make it look nice and set up the table, chairs Ect’s. Because i thought we were in Agreement i had left all items to show I would be returning, along with direct and constant communication with the customer. I still am willing to do the original agreement. If not accepted or done by spring 5/16/24 I will be willing to give customer $1,200.00 for concrete and retrieve forms, other materials, and other outdoor items from the project site. That is another couple hundred i have already put in for this project. The Job was completed as stated in the contract. Materials/labor/ concrete were paid for. Finish of concrete is a visual fault. I would be happy to send any screenshots, call logs and voicemails and any other additional information you may need.
