After having work done SavAtree, which this company agreed to accept the insurance payment as payment in full I am constantly being harassed for payment. Myself and the insurance company both has sent proof of payment to the parent company, but I am still receive monthly invoices now with a late payment finance fee added. DO NOT DO BUSINES WITH THIS COMPANY !Review from John F

SavaTree was recommended by my home insurance agent. The local office is located at ************************************************. It has a finance office at ****************************************************. I should have checked BBB before getting committed. They are rated as F with **** out of 5.0.My complaint relates to charges of $581 for the Service called ***************** III. I did agree to the estimate but did not ask for clarification. An arborist came to our house and reviewed our yard. We discussed trimming my two Birch trees back so they would not overhang and need my pruning the droopy limbs at least twice per growing season. Four or five men, with a large truck with a lift basket which they did not need nor use, were here for 2-3 hours playing on their cell phones. They asked me what should they do! I said t "Talk to your supervisor, not me." They cut off the lower limbs that I had marked with tape. *****, the supervisor, showed up around the 3 hour ***** ***** showed them how to cut a few branches. After 15 minutes they all left! This service was not worth the charges. I offered to pay $100, they agreed to drop the charge to $250.Review from Chris H

2 stars - *************** was 5 stars, subsequent service was zero stars and you cannot assign 2.5 stars.I requested a one-time service from SavATree in November 2022 that was performed to the highest of standards. The work authorization included the specific language. Included in this program is 1 service for a total of $311.00. The work authorization document boiler plate language includes the following Ever-Green ******* To help maintain a vibrant and healthy landscape, your program is considered CONTINUOS. This means that your program will remain in our calendar and automatically renew each year, ensuring ongoing professional care for your property. You can, of course, CANCEL AT ANY TIME BY contacting us.On the 5th January 2023 SavATree contacted me asking if I would like to perform the same service in 2023 and requested If you would like to approve the renewal, please respond to this email I never responded because I didnt want to renew the service as I had found out all I needed.On 7th December 2023 I received an invoice for service performed and this remains unpaid and is being disputed. A few points:(a) There was never an approval granted for the renewal for the service (b) There was no notification of a planned service call where an intervention could have been performed to avoid this dispute (I could have moved to a different house or state!)(c) There was no notification per ***** Law (HB ****) regarding the notifications a service provider must perform for annual contract renewals. This law requires notification between 90 and 15 days before the anniversary to confirm the renewal and that the details of how a service can be cancelled be provided to the customer.Beware of these questionable practices.Review from James H

We had contacted SavATree for a quote to remove a few dead trees and trim back branches that hang over our driveway. We received a favorable quote from the arborist and were ready to move forward with their services. As is standard practice before moving forward with the contract we asked for proof of insurance and license. The company refused to provide the requested information without a signed contract and a 50% deposit. Being put off by this response, we decided not to move forward with service.Review from Cheryl C

********* ******** Location. I engaged this company's services for what I thought was a 1 time treatment of my oak trees July 2021, but apparently there is a clause under where I signed stating it was continuous program and would automatically renew each year. Not only did it automatically renew, the company self schedules these appointments, without confirmation of dates and times or approval of services being performed. Allegedly these service were performed on property that I recently had sold without my knowledge. Trespassing I do believe since the new owners had not agreed to these services. I Discussed this with the office staff to no avail. After not paying the bill, associated with these questionable services, they threatened to send it to collections, essentially extorting the money from you. (This is for the Lakewood location. To my knowledge the Lakewood location is not listed but is part of the same company) Last fall of 2021 my husband called to schedule and pre-pay for our ash tree to be treated against the Emerald *** borer beetle. We were never informed that they treat the trees from June till August. We called three times, each time we were told something different about when they would come out. They never called to do any follow up. We have always had to call them. To date it appears this is a scam because they have the customer pre-pay to reserve a spot and do not deliver. I called to ask to speak to the operations assistant. I was told she does not have voice mail and was in the field. I do not believe they have intent to deliver on the service. I was told they have a refund policy. At this point I do not believe they will refund my money either.Review from Kyle H

****** ************ who was a wonderful company was taken over by Savatree. I called ****** to make an appointment for a tree that was about to fall. An arborist came - delightful woman - who I didn't realize was being paid a commission as a salesperson. ****** had never done business this way. She walked with me through the yard, told me the total price. It was very much higher than any work I had done by ****** before, so I had to reduce the cost by reducing the job. I told her I wasn't going to be able to pay the entire amount immediately if I accept this bid and was told as long as I could pay 50%, that would be fine. They came out two days later - I recognized many on the crew - and took care of the job -great job as usual. I've paid them $200 a month since they came (May 2022). I got a call saying unless I paid the balance I was going to be charged finance fees. The arborist/sales person contacted me and we both apologized for the misunderstanding. They will not accept $200 a month without charging me fees. I was confused until I pulled out my original **** and saw Savatree as the header. Then it made sense. ****** had quit. I miss Herb, **** and the integrity of the ****** name.Although I understand many of the tree service workers remained (which is why it was a great job done), I will NEVER do business with this Savatree again. ********* reports the majority of Savatree employees are stressed, unhappy in their jobs. That's very different from reports I had of ******. The phones are never answered; the person who answers is quite rude. The billing department never called back. The person who comes to your home is no longer a tree professional - it is a salesperson who is charging you a commission. Commissions were never a part of ******; they are a mainstay of Savatree. Savayour bucks and call someone else. I'd rather pay finance charges to my credit card company than to Savatree.Review from Bryan A

******************************* came out to look at our trees. He was rude and crass with my wife. I followed up with him about what he recommended and after 1-2 email responses he disappeared. Another employee of the company emailed me an email from him saying he would not work with us because he wanted to charge more money. So after being rude and not helpful he says he cannot charge us enough to treat our trees. ******* is a terrible employee who should be fired by Savatree given his unprofessional and rude behavior with customers.Review from Willow C

Very expensive compared to other tree companies. Adequate work, but left ruts in my lawn and damaged the cyclone fence. They patched only one rut and put a new topbar in the fence, then left the old bars in my yard. Look elsewhere.Review from R Carol S

I scheduled a free consultation to discuss a pine bark beetle problem and the loss of several trees from it. Appointment was supposed to be with an arborist, 11:00 am on a Wednesday. At 9:00 am, the guy (I highly doubt he was a certified arborist) showed up and said he was in the neighborhood early. I said youre two hours early and he said he left a message on my phone, as though it was my fault I didnt guess hed be there 2 hours early. I had been outside watering my garden and didnt hear my phone ring at 8:40 am when he left a msg saying Hey x** (my name), give me a call about your appointment. He spent less than 5 minutes at our house, suggesting we go to a local nursery to replace the trees that died, and said we should thin out the pines but gave no indication by how much they should be thinned, even when asked. He was the most off-putting, rude, pseudo-consultant weve dealt with over many years. I would not recommend this company to anyone based on this bizarre and rude interaction.
