Tuesday 18th 2022, I went to ****** in Long Island to pick up the truck that I bought. As soon as I drove the truck, I noticed few issues with the truck so I took it to the nearest shop to get it fixed since I was planning to drive it to ****** **. I saw a repair shop and spoke to the owner who told me after the diagnostics that I was going to need rear shocks, transmission lines and fluid. He also said 2 hoses needed to be replaced as well. He asked me to pay $1350 including the parts, I was able to negotiate to $1150 since he was gonna get me back on the road the same day but he didnt stick to his words because I spent the night at the hotel.I gave him $1000 on the same day and my balance was $150. The next day I came to get my truck , the owner charged me $650 instead of $150 because according to him he replaced my radiator without informing me and he said the part itself costs $500. I cleared my balance and left his shop. I didnt want any arguments. On the way to *******, I broke down on jersey turnpike ( transmission line busted). I spent $150 towing the truck to a safe location after I spoke to him and we agree that he was going to tow my truck to his shop and fix it(that was Thursday the 21st July 2022). Meanwhile I flew back to ******* for my daughters birthday. the following Monday , I did a check call and he said the truck will be ready by Tuesday so I asked him how much it will cost me to haul my truck to ****** **, he told me $900, I asked him to negotiate with the driver to $800 and that was it..He never got back to me, not even answering my phone calls. On Thursday the 28th, I got a call from a driver asking me where to drop my truck since he made it to my town(Albany), I was shocked and asked the driver about the cost of his service and it was $900.. I paid to pick up my truck not running, I had to tow it to a shop and Theyre gonna tell me that its the exact same problem with my transmission line. The man overcharged me and didnt do his job.

customer failed to mention that ****** is a salvage auction and 98% of the vehicles sold there are insurance loss vehicles. the truck was totaled by insurance and not in a run and drive condition when it was bought to me. the damaged radiator was showed to the customer when he came. we repaired the truck he made it to ********** where one line leaked. out of good faith i paid for the tow back to my shop which was around $300 and i fixed it again and did not charge him after that customer asked me to transport truck to GA he had quotes for around 1500-1600 dollars. i transported it for $900. still if customer is not happy i can not do anything about it.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[I have read what the business said and I dont agree with his response in the sense that all the car bought from ****** are repairable if they are not declared TOTAL LOSS. For the business saying that my car was a total loss , my question WHY WOULD HE CHARGED ME $1600 for something that you know thats not repairable. The man overcharged me for the part because when we discussed about the price , he said that he was going to charge me $450 for the repair.. so can he provide me a receipt for the parts costing $1150??? Also if you think that you did me a favor, why paying for the tow to your shop if you did fixed it like he said he was going to do it.Im not asking the business to refund me everything but only the difference of the money spent on the parts.. I challenged him to show me all the receipts of the parts that he spent on my *********** will put a term to my complaint..

I will ask him to stop overcharging customers on the parts and also to be honest about his job.. If you can do a job , do it or let the customer knows that its over your qualifications.
