I called Wilson dental in September/October to make an appointment to get an abscess cured. The first thing I asked is if they take Medicare and they said yes! So I made an appointment for march because they told me even though I have an infection it is not an emergency. Now in January, after being on antibiotics for the 3rd time because the infection has spread and causing severe symptoms that can lead to death! So I called Wilson dental to see if I can get in sooner. Now that the infection spread they agreed that it is an ‘emergency, so they make me an appointment for tomorrow, then cancel it because now all of a sudden they claim take don’t take medicade and never did..which is a lie. They canceled my appointment and now they can’t get me in until June!!! And now I have dental sepsis which you can die from. How can you not care that your employees messed up and it can cause someone to lose their life!

On the initial call she told us what her insurance was and we set up the new patient account.  Insurance is not verified until just prior to the appointment to confirm active coverage.  We do not participate with this specific **** plan.  We would be an out of network provider.  It is the patients responsibility to assure provider participation meaning acceptance of that insurance plans fees by researching the participating provider list for her plan.  She also has the option of paying more out of pocket due to non participating lower insurance coverage. This is the note left by our Central Scheduling Manager after speaking to this patient Patient ID ********---Took over call as pt is upset her appt is cancelled due to insurance being non par, pt wanted to know why she is just being told now when she called back in oct for march ,attempted to explain to patient that when she gave **** information we do not verify it until time of appts due to breakdown of benefits but pt interrupted and cut us off and we were unable to move forward in a healthy conversation , patient continued to ask what she should do, suggested to pt multiple times that she can go to the ER for urgent care, contact her insurance company for the In Network providers  and that they can assist in finding her an office that participates, patient got upset , told me to "shut my mouth , kiss her *** and rot in hell" pt abruptly disconnected, pt to be dismissed --Lizz

Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  The reason I rejected Wilson dental’s response is because they lied. On the phone the lady I spoke with said that her 2 employees that made my appointments  messed up and should not have made my appointment because they need a referral before they can accept my insurance. The first question her employee asked that made my first appointment was what type of insurance I have.  So to say they don’t verify your insurance until right before your appointment is a lie! After saying that her employees made a mistake she should of offered me an emergency appointment (which the employee I spoke to before her offered so I know it’s possible) after I got a referral letter which I told het I could get immediately. She also could have apologized for her untrained employees mistakes as well!  Regards, ****** ****

I received braces from Wilson Dental on April 4,2022. I also received my 6 months cleaning the same day. I never seen a doctor for my exam. I have scheduled multiple appointments for my exam also explaining that I'm having pain in my mouth. I have scheduled over 3 to 4 appointments to find out Dr A*** doesn't want to see me. I scheduled another appointment with a new Dr for June 22. The office calls again and cancelled. Knowing I'm having pain and still no exam. I call again and ask for another appointment they tell me they have other patients and I need to wait until July 21 for my 6 month exam that originally was in April. Staff is very rude and not supporting at all to my health. I have scheduled a cleaning on June 16 due to no response from the Dr. about my exam. They seen me for that. I feel Wilson Dental is neglecting my healthcare. My mouth hurts. I have braces from this office as well and they are well aware of my care.

July 12, 2022 To Whom It May Concern: In response to the complaint from Ms. ****** on 6/28/2022. We understand the importance of dental health and while we strive to have patients get their exams & x-rays on the same day as cleanings it does not always work out this way. Due to staff shortages and covid-19 guidelines we are booking out sometimes 1-2 months. With this said we do reserve emergency appointment times for patients in pain and more urgent needs. Ms. ****** was under management review due a hostile call on 6/27/2022. Despite this we called Ms. ****** yesterday and offered her to come in 7/12/2022 and she accepted. The appointment was completed and we have attached the results of that visit. We feel patient left satisfied and are happy to see patient going forward for all her dental needs. If you have any more questions regarding this situation, please let us know immediately. Respectfully, Wilson Dental, PC

About 5 months ago I began going to dental Wilson . I went in for a X-ray and a cleaning . The x-ray showed that I had a few cavities and a deep cleaning was suggested . After that I came back for the deep cleaning and to get my cavities filled . I had my right side cavities filled first . I had to come back to get it shaved down because it was too high and causing me pain. I got my right side cavities filled and that’s when all my problems began. My tooth was hurting so much, it would give me really bad headaches, I was taking pills everyday all day to ease the pain. I called Wilson dental and told them about it and they told me to come in. I went in and all the doctors did was check my bite and shave it down. That helped a little. Soon after it began hurting again . I was in so much pain, I’d take pills and cry all the time . I didn’t trust to go back because honestly I had nothing but bad experiences there from my very first appointment. Each time I went there , something unprofessional occurred , the doctor herself was very rude , never introduced herself , didn’t go over what she was doing etc. I ended up going to the emergency , there I was told that my filling was done too close to my nerve and that is why I was having pain . I was told I may need a root canal. They also shaved it down for me and that helped again but only got a short period of time. The pain continued, I kept taking my pills . Eventually it stoped . Then about a month ago it began to hurt again, really bad , I also noticed I had some plaque or something on the bottom of that tooth and others in that area.I went back to the emergency and was told that I need a root canal.I have insurance but not many places take it and places that did , they weren’t taking new clients I couldn’t take the pain anymore and I didn’t trust Wilson dental so I found a dentist and I went in and paid out of pocket.I had a absent in that tooth ,was put on antibiotics and then root canal was done . It was $1540

In response to the complaint:We completed restorative fillings on 6/7/2021 after finding decay on teeth #2,30,31. We did not hear any concerns from the patient at that time nor did the patient contact us until 6/21/2021. Upon hearing the patient's complaint of pain, we immediately offered for the patient to come in the following day6/22/2021 where the fillings on #2 and #31 were adjusted. The patient also came in on 7/12/2021 for a cleaning and fillings and did not mention any concerns or pain at that time. The patient called again on7/16/2021 and was scheduled for 7/21/2021 to evaluate pain on the upper left filling (#2). On 7/21 the bite was again adjusted and the patient left happy. On 7/28 the patient called to state that she was going elsewhere. When we find decay on teeth, we always try to treat with the most conservative option first. This means we will do restorative fillings to see if the tooth can be saved with a filling before escalating to root canal treatment. Our consent forms inform patients that it is possible that teeth may require RCT in the future, but we make every attempt to save the tooth first. If the patient would have come back in we could have evaluated the need for a root canal and completed this for her, as well as reimbursed her for any fillings. Unfortunately, the patient did not give us that option. --

Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]This is the first time I am hearing from them that my tooth had a decay. The docter wasn’t friendly at all , she didn’t even introduce herself or even explain what she did when she was finished. She came in filled my teeth and walked out . When I did call and complain about my teeth hurting , they had me come in each time and all they did was adjust the filling. They never took more x-rays to see what may be causing the pain. After going in a few times for pain and them just adjusting the filling , which helped the pain for that day only , I stoped going back. I didn’t trust them to keep going back since my teeth didn’t hurt until I had work done with them . When I went to a new dentist I was told that my filling was done way to close to the nerve and that is why I was in constant pain. I was told I needed a root canal and that I had a absent in my tooth . I was in so much pain that I had it taken care of right away. I had to pay out of pocket and I still need to get a crown. Wilson dental is responsible for this and I want them to pay for it. If not , I will take them to court , I have papers from the current dentist that worked on me stating that this was because of a bad filling job . Also , I have taken many pictures of google reviews from other Wilson dental clients that complained about the same exact issue that happens to me . There were many complaints on there about the exact thing , therefore this ain’t the first time this doctor worked on someone’s mouth and messed up . After reading all the reviews on google about Wilson dental and what I experienced with them , I don’t think this doctor should still have her license . I will take them to court for all the money I had to pay out of pocket plus all the pain and suffering I had to deal with for 6 months. Regards, ******* ********
