We hired AMS Enterprises to install a privacy fence (8ft) in our yard. They completed the project, in a careless manner. The posts that should be set 40 inches into the ground were only set 16. Multiple boards were missing nails (I had to fix this myself) and now, the wind has caused the fence to tilt to the point that it will break soon. It began leaning after a mere 3 months. We paid $10,760 for this job and when I asked Anthony to come and help us fix the lean, he showed up twice and never returned my calls or text messages. I recently hired a crew to help fix the lean and this is when we learned how carelessly the job had been done. Now, he is willing to give us materials to fix this fence but is unwilling to fix his careless work or refund our money. We are stuck with a leaning fence and have to hire another crew to fix this. This is a company that should not be hired by anyone looking for quality work. We now have to replace the entire fence for the same price we paid AMS. I am disgusted by this entire situation.

I built an 8’ wooden fence for ***** ****** in October of 2022.  In January of 2023 he contacted me to let me know the fence was failing.  I went over and took a look, after inspection, it was clear to me that I did not use long enough fence posts, completely my fault.  After telling him I would repair the issue, and asked him to give me a time that is good for him to meet, we set up a meeting to discuss the fix, he called me to cancel the initial meeting and stated “we’re putting the house up for sale, but I’ll get back to you to set up another meeting.”  That was the last I heard from mr ****** until last month.  After 6 months he led in with threatening me, telling me I “screwed” him.  He told me would he calling the better business bureau on me.  He told me did not want me to build him another fence.  So I offered to at least buy all new material and have it delivered.  The material was delivered last month.  I absolutely take blame in the failure of the fence.  But once he told me they were selling the house, coupled with not hearing from
Him for 6 months, I figured he had sold the house with the fence as is.  I don’t think I deserve a bad mark on my rating because I feel I handled it the only way I was able to.  I laid out over $2000 in material at a complete loss.  I am in no way dishonest or underhanded.  I do not operate like that.  Mr ****** told me he would not go to the Bbb if I purchased the material, and I did that.   Please let me know if this suffices a valid response.  Thank you for your time.

Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. We have hired a new company to replace our fence. This will cost us $7,000 on top of the $10,000 we spent on the one AMS Enterprises built. We want our money refunded by AMS Enterprises. Regards, ***** ******

AMS Enterprises was contracted by numberous property owners along the west side of Honeoye Lake to connect their homes to the newly installed municiple water line. We also contracted with AMS for this service. On 9/1/2020 AMS personel made the connection to our home at **** ***** ****** ******** **. AMS was paid $1500.00 for this service. See attached. On 2/15/2022, I received a phone call from the municiple water department advising me that they shut off our water due to a leak being detected (70 gpm) which had been leaking that amount for the previous 18 hours. We immediatly began trying to contact AMS, placing 4 phone calls leaving voice mail messages expressing what was happening and the urgency that he get back to us, all on 2/15/2022. To this date, no one returned our calls and we have been unable to speak to anyone at AMS. As a result, I had to seek out assistance elsewhere which is now costing me an additional $2200.00 for an emergency repair of the faulty installation by AMS. In addition, I am also responsible for paying for the leaked water. Once the repair is completed we will then have to pay for the repair work to be inspected and the water turned back on. It was determined the problem was at the box at the stop directly adjacent to the water stop installed by the municipality. (Outside the house, fortunately). Our new contractor will photograph the problem as he progresses with the repair. This home is our year round, 2nd home. We have been without water now since to was shut down by the water department. The scheduled repair will hopefully be on 2/20/22 or there abouts.

Hello ****, I was contracted to install a water service for the ****’s in September of 2020.My work comes with a 1 year warranty (industry standard). The ****s reached out to me in February 2021, regarding their water service issue.I kindly responded with the attached text message stating they were out of warranty and due to the poor execution of installing the main water line on that particular project, I was no longer servicing that work.I never heard back from them, until I got the complaint.Based on her complaint and the alleged remediation of the service issue, I attest that she would have paid me the same amount if not more, than she paid the contractor that came to fix it.I would argue that I am guilty of nothing more than possibly being a poor communicator (sent a text instead of a return phone call).I am a good honest business man with a small family, if you were to survey 99.9% of my past/current customers you would find that I represent everything the BBB stands for.Thank you for hearing my side, if I can help in any other way please let me know.Thank you.
