Was contacted in 11/22 by this company, who's representative said it was with ***** Who. The company was looking for payment on a prior bill. I had previously been listed and publicized by Marquis ***** Who, so I thought the contact was to ask for payment on account. I did not purchase anything, but gave them my credit card and it was charged for $499.99. They sent a piece of paper showing the payment, which strangely was sent registered mail. A month later they called asking for something like a thousand dollars claiming that "everything was ready to go." At that point I realized it was a scam and immediately contacted my credit card company. Strangely, my credit card company eventually would not refund my $499.99 as they said I did not "cancel" the program (how do you "cancel" an alleged agreement you did not make?) When pressed this company identifies itself as "Morningstar", which confuses it with Morningstar, **** a legitimate advisory company. The CC statement identifies it as MSP and there is a website with a picture of a radio station linked to "Morningstar ***** Who."

On February 1st, 2022 I was called by someone saying they were following up on a transaction I had agreed to last year regarding professional promotion. They did not clearly identify who they were or the company they were representing. I was at work and rushed so I thought this was ******* **** Who, with whom I had made a promotional arrangement with in the past. This was not ******** but turned out to be someone from a company called Morning Star promotions, which they did not identify themselves as. This person insisted I had agreed to this transaction and the deal had been signed last year (this was a lie), further indicating this was not ******* who I had worked with. He said they just needed to update my credit card information, so I gave them a credit card for the amount of $1500. This charge was not approved by my bank, as they thought it was fraudulent, which it was. The person called back and said I needed to approve it and I said no, I had changed my mind. He said I could not do that and it would be turned over to a collection agency if I did not call the bank and authorize it. I did not call the bank, but on the phone message I received I did indicate I knew who made the charge. I thought I would have to sign again to authorize it, but apparently the charge went through. I then got another call back from this person saying that they were lowering the charge to $1450. Two days later I received two envelopes in the mail and a book indicating I had been charged twice (once for $1500 and once for $1450) for exactly the same transactions. This was obviously a fraudulent scam. I was not even in the book they sent. They said my profile would be published in their book and some type of plaque, none of which I authorized. I never contacted Morning Star promotions, I gave them no information about me, I did not edit anything they wrote about me, and I did not send them a photo, all of which I did for ******* **** Who. They must have obtained any information abou

At this time, I have been contacted directly by Morning Star Promotions regarding complaint ID ********, however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

After several attempts I was called back by the salesman, and he agreed to refund one duplication charge only. I have not heard back from them since, or received any of the documentation I requested confirming that I provided them original information and/or photograph of me. My credit card company has halted payment.
