I signed up to a Study and work abroad program (03/31/2021) in order to secure a placement as part of my University degree. I paid **** USD for this program, to which their contract states they would help find me a 10 month internship in *****, ****** and full assistance and support during the whole process. The advisor that was assigned to support me had told me that they would submit all my documents to the ****** Administration on my behalf in order to get my **** approved. I sent over the documents on the 12th August 2021. however a month before I was due to move out to ***** (09/09/2021) they told me I had to do the whole process on my own. They then provided misinformation about being able to work out in ***** without a ****, which can be seen on the attachments below. I queried this information multiple times, to which the advisor responded that it would be fine for me to live and work in ***** without a ****. This is highly illegal, and if I was to have worked without a ***** I would have been deported from ******, and potentially banned from the country. When I had submitted the documents to myself, the ****** had responded to me that there were issues with my application. They provided their response in ******, so I forwarded this email over to my advisor, to get some help with what they were asking for; to which I was given the wrong information about the documents I needed to send off. They had also provided me with a non-compliant Convention, which caused further delay to my application. This had been stated in the email that I had sent to my advisor, however they never responded to my email. This led to me making a formal complaint to the company. I asked for a refund due to the service they had provided me during this process. Their response to this complaint was to offer me another internship in ***** for 3 months- which would be illegal, or they would find me an internship within ******- which I felt would not equate to the money I had paid for.

We are aware of this situation and it have been addressed properly. According to our company policy 2 solutions were offered to compensate the client. The client decline both options and we are still in contact and working out a solution for her.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

      [Your Answer Here]

I don't believe that the two options provided are viable. The first option provided is illegal; to intern in Paris, I must have a **** in order to work otherwise I could be deported from the county- per French Law, which the study abroad company have not helped with, so how would I be sure that they could support me for a **** for a 2-3 month internship.

The second option is not worth the money I paid. I paid Study Abroad Europe so that I would be able to work outside of ******, and would receive support with the **** process, which is something that I did not receive- per their service acceptance and service statements. I was able to find an internship in ****** without the company fees. I paid for Study Abroad Europe services, in order to find an internship abroad, which is something that an internship doesn't provide.

I had kindly asked for a refund due to the services they offered not provided; however due to the financial burden caused, and no support with the **** process, it has caused a delay in starting work with Groupe SEB, which meant I have been renting an apartment in Paris for 6 months without being able to live out there, due to the **** process, because of this, I now would like a full refund as well as compensation for the financial burden I have received due to the misinformation this company had provided.
