I am going start off by giving this business 0 stars because they have completely cross the line with the damage they have done to the property of my computer!!!! Initially, I was planned to trade in my laptop for a new one and called ***** tech support to get help with backing up my data due to my laptop running out of storage space but encountered a random issue where my computer would load half way and shut off by itself, restart over again and again. I was told by ***** tech support that I needed to setup a Genius Bar appointment. However, due to the breakout of the omicron virus, ***** had shut down majority of their retail stores preventing their customers from seeing their ****** team and was referring them to Third Party Authorized Providers instead. I called Mikey's Hookup to see if I needed to schedule an appointment and was told that they accepted walk-ins. On 01/18/2022, I spoke to the guy behind the counter who goes by the name of ***** and explained to him that I had experience my computer shutting off and how this was preventing me from getting my data and I needed it so I will be able to trade it in. He told me they would need to run a diagnostic test to see what the issue was and could help me with getting my data off of the computer once that problem was resolved. I asked him how long would this take and was told anywhere from 2-3 week or 3-4 weeks depending on what is happening. He told me I would have to put down $79 for them to do the diagnostics test. I was told to be on the lookout via email for updates about my computer and when it will be ready. Fast forward, I never received any updates nor calls. I called two weeks later into the process and the team was brushing me off saying it's not ready yet. I then contacted them on 02/14/2022 and was told the same thing. The next day I went into the store to get my computer that morning, they told me nothing had been done if I took it away now, once I did, ALL OF DATA WAS ERASED!!!

This customer is not telling the truth and should be a shamed of herself . First off I showed her that her data was being backed up to iCloud I didnt need to spend the money on a data recovery . Once she noticed her data was backed up she was embarrassed and lied and said it was only her iPhone data . I clearly saw it wasnt . Thats lie number one. When she picked up her computer she tried to blame us for cracking her laptop screen bezel. When we pointed out we noted her laptop screen bezel was cracked at the day of drop off she was embarrassed she was caught in another lie trying to scam us into paying for a $550 part. We did not erase her computer because when she picked up she turned it on and it showed her user profile which has all her data . Thats lie number 3 . We have all of this on our store video . We are happy to upload to the BBB for 100% proof that this customer tried to scam us and is a liar.
