I hired Gemini Flooring to sand and polyurethane my floors. After explaining to the sales person (******) what I wanted, he told me that companies were not allowed to use oil based polyurethane anymore and that he could offer a water-based polyurethane that would provide the same aesthetics. After the job was completed, I explained that I was not satisfied with the look as I wanted a high-gloss finish and what I had was more of a semi-gloss. The owner of the company offered to apply another coat of the water-based polyurethane. What was being offered was to put one coat of oil-based polyurethane over the current water based polyurethane. I later told the owner (****) that I do not want that done but and after much debate, the owner agreed to re-sand the floors back to the original wood and then apply 2 coats of oil-based polyurethane. They company sent 2 workers back on 8/12 to sand the floors and apply 1 coat of polyurethane and were due to come back on 8/13 to apply the 2nd coat/finish the job. On 8/13, no one showed up despite the worker telling me that he was coming back "tomorrow" and when I contacted ****** he told me that he wanted the floors to dry and that he would send the workers back on "Monday or Tuesday" (3-4 days later). We settled on Monday (8/15), but no one showed up on 8/15, no one called to say they were not coming and the company still has not reached out to explain. I have since had to hire a new company to finish the job which caused a delay in being able to have my tenant move in on Sept 1. I paid a down payment of $1,250 to Gemini Flooring and the balance due was $850 to be paid upon completion of the work. I am requesting a refund of my down payment in the amount of $1,250 from Gemini Flooring.Customer response
