On Tuesday, October 25th 2022, I went to Song's market in ***** to but a few items. I brought two green plantains and a small piece of yam. When I went to the register to pay for these items I handed the cashier my debit card to pay for the purchase. I received my receipt from the cashier and it stated that the total value of the items came out to be $7 and some change. I took my items, the card, and the receipt and proceeded to leave the store. Later that day I would end up throwing away this receipt as the purchase was small and I had no reason to keep it. Then two days later my daughter was checking my account and saw that $2,067.32 was withdrawn from my account at Song's fruit market. I was shocked as I never spent this much money at this market. This was not the amount disclosed on the recept when I was making a purchase that day, and I believe they overcharged me at the store. My daughter immediately called my bank provider **************** to dispute the charge. They had an investigation and proceeded to say that my claim was denied. My next course of action was to content the store on my own to see if they can pay me back, but I decided to seek help from the Better Business Bureau instead upon the suggestion of my daughter. Additionally, while my daughter was researching the reviews of this market on ****** there was another person who wrote about being overcharged $5 dollars after making a purchase there as well. Hopefully, by coming to your organization I can get the money that I lost back because I desperately need it as I have a low-income job and don't have the means to loose over $2,000 in funds.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:
I have contacted the business outside of the BBB and have successfully resolved the issue at hand. A refund of the money that was taken from the Business was given to me. I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.
