Do not buy from this company period. All of the negative reviews on BBB and TrustPilot should be enough to warn you away from them. There are lots of stories about horrible customer experience, deceptive marketing/advertisements, and extremely shady practices.I had one experience with them in 2020 and vowed to let everyone know to not do business with them. They accused me of being a false reviewer on TrustPilot.com and "taking out my frustrations on them" when, after I purchased a chair, there was fraudulent activity on my debit card the week I did business with them from ********, **. News flash: they're HQ'd in ********. Tell me how that's just a coincidence when I live in the southern **. I'm not accusing them of stealing or fraud, but I just didn't trust the security of their payment system after that.Companies like this should not stay in business. They advertise chairs at "discount" rates, but do everything to hide the original condition of the chair. If you get it and are not happy, they make you pay out the rear to return it. Most of them are used and touched up somehow. I do not believe what they say about origins of their company or how long they've actually been around. They've just changed their name in the past, probably because the reputation was so tarnished.Review from John T

No money back Guarantee for their fake ******* claiming to be ************************* Aeron chairs -- Purchased three at what I thought was a great price -- you pay for it -- the arms don't stay up, ask for replacement chair, they sent arms that we had to pull apart the whole chair to install -- and they still didn't stay up. They are not high quality -- if you have a problem, they send you a how to fix it yourself video, they are the worst! I do not recommend buying from here -- spend the money and go to the company -- well worth it! I threw them in the garbage because I got so frustrated trying to resolve all their issues! All the chair features are not "guarenteed" you get what you get, so they don't even adjust the way they are supposed to! **************** is the worst -- email only! You can't even talk to anyone, make you jump through hoops, send videos cause they dont believe you -- aweful!Review from Rory O

Worst experience I've ever had with a company before. I bought a ************************* Aeron chair, and it was lost in the mail. Madison seating needed to conduct two separate investigations that lasted another 2 weeks in order for me to get a refund. When they finally refunded me, they blacklisted my address so I can't get another one. They said I need to wait for the *** investigation to finish in order for them to un-blacklist my address. It's now been a month and I haven't heard from them. They won't respond to any of my emails either.Review from Rene T

What a joke!!! Poor customer service. We have bought 7 office chairs. The corners on two of these rubber like chair arms broke off. We want to get the arms replaced. It sounds so simple. However we have to send both chairs back and pay shipping on both chairs. Then we have to pay $95 for each chair to have them send the chairs back to us. That is a total cost of $400. Discussions are only threw email. I called their number to discuss but was told I had to go through email only.BUYER BEWARE OF THE WARRANTY.The warranty requires the entire item(s) to be sent back to our facility for repair. Customers are responsible for the shipping costs associated with the warranty request. Parts and labor will be free only if the complete item is sent to us for repair. The repaired/replaced item must be sent back with common carrier only. A $75-$99 shipping fee will be requested to return the warranty item back to you.Review from Drew S

I have purchased more than 30 chairs from Madison Seating. We did have an issue with 2 chairs but Madison went above nad beyond in fixing the problem. They have been a pleasure to work with and looking forward to purchasing additional seating from them.Review from DP

"If it sounds too good to be true, it is!!!!" Ordered a chair from them. Hadn't heard anything from them after several days so cancelled my order. None of the original product page, order summary, pre-checkout agreement mentioned anything about 2 weeks to ship or anything about cancellation fees. The promptly refunded my money and the refund email stated a full refund, however my bank statement reflects a refund less $50. I reached out and received a canned response about return fees. They never sent the item and never sent me any information regarding shipping being prepared or anything. Upon further discussion they pointed me to TOS saying they keep a %5 cancellation fee. Burying these fees in TOS instead of noting them on the purchase agreement is NOT "Better Business" After this situation I started looking them up and this seems to be a common practice for them. They aren't sell "new" stuff that justifies a return fee to cover depreciation, ESPECIALLY when they never ship the item. This company seems to be realizing a lot of revenue by charging unethical fees under unethical situations they put customers in by leaving them hanging.Madisonseating.com Response

The buyer purchased an item that was on a clearance sale. The customer received a confirmation email with a delivery estimate of 10 business days. The buyer demanded expedited shipping and then questions the stock availability when we explained we could not overnight a chair to him. The buyer then asked to cancel the order and was charged the 5% cancellation fee he agreed to when placing the order.Customer Response

Absolutely not the case. I made no such demands for shipping or even a refund and their reply just goes to show how little attention they pay to customer service. I hadn't heard anything after several business days and needed a new chair sooner then they'd get around to sending me one, so I cancelled my order via a very polite email (provided to BBB). They promptly cancelled my order and the refund email even showed a FULL refund. If **************** hadn't emailed me that I had merchant credit (less $50) I probably wouldn't have even noticed the actual refund was shorted and I speculate that this part of their tactic. Tell customers they got a full refund and hope they don't check their statements. I cant post attachments here, but BBB has copies of the emails. I'm just ****** off and want to make sure all other customers are aware of the frustration they are in for if they do business with Madison Seating. The revenue stream this company must realize by leaving customers hanging and then charging them 5% must be ridiculous.Review from Jacob B.

Madison Seating is run by liars. Do not give this company your business. I clicked on a listing on ****** for a ****************************** chair. I looked through the product listing on the website carefully. I browsed the rest of the website. It looked legit so I decided to buy.Big mistake. They claimed the listing was marked as "open box." That's a lie.Open box is also NOT the term for this. It's clearly a used / refurbished chair. There is wear and tear and damage that I didn't discover until trying to disassemble it.1. There is no ************************* box. It's a Madison Seating box. 2. There is no official paperwork or instruction manual. Nothing that proves it's actually a ************************* chair and not a knockoff. The chair is so uncomfortable that I question whether it's genuine.3. There were no tools. Assembly of the original chair requires a 5/8 inch wrench and a torx screwdriver, which were not included in the box.It came mostly assembled. I did have to attach the back to the base with two 5/8-inch bolts. The bolts had what look like pink and white threading glue on them, again indicating that this is a used / refurbished product.I decided to return the chair within the 30-day "money back guarantee" window because it was so uncomfortable. Except one of the bolts was stripped and cannot be removed. I've tried everything except drilling it out.So it can't be disassembled for return shipping. They insisted it must be returned in the box it came in. That is not possible unless I drill out the bolt.Their customer service blamed me (said that I damaged it), lied about the facts (claimed that no tools are required for assembly. HUH?), and refused to provide a prepaid return shipping label until 5 emails and 3 days later.I have no faith that if I'm able to actually disassemble the chair and send it back that they will honor the money-back guarantee. They've proven that they're liars.Madisonseating.com Response

Madisonseating has been in business for over 18 years selling brand name ergonomic office chairs at half price. All our products are 100% genuine and can be authenticated at any local dealership. This buyer's review is based on his personal preference and not the quality of the product. In addition, **************** ruined the bolts of the chair while assembling the product and was upset when he was instructed to drill out the stripped bolts due to his negligence.Customer Response

Absolutely ridiculous response that proves what a terrible company this is. I didn't ruin the bolts. How do you ruin a bolt? The bolts came with threading glue on them already because it was a USED chair. I screwed the bolts in until they were tight. I didn't over-tighten it whatsoever. One came out fine and the other did not. I did absolutely nothing wrong and coming on here and lying about what happened is just sad.Review from Steve Z

Just a terrible company and super bad customer support. Company refuses to acknowledge and take ownership of poorly refurbished product. Operate on bad faith warranty knowing customers typically don't have the time or resources to pay for return shipping. I don't wish to make anyone who work here feel bad, but I can't image this being a fun or positive place to work at. Seems like really poor work culture if they treat their customers so poorly after reading all the reviews. It is absolutely NOT WORTH saving a few dollars with these guys and wish I would have just paid a little more with a competitor.Review from Lauren K

Horrible experience with this company Madison Seating. First of all they have items on their website for people to buy that day will be shipped in ***** days when in fact most items are not even in stock and take months to ship. On top of that - even after ordering an item and then being told its not in stock afterwards when it should show on website that its not in stock and will take this much longer to be shipped- it also demands you email them once it is back in stock or you lose your place in line. This company is fraud and not even approved by the better business bureau. NEVER ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY.
