      Meridian Furniture Inc. has a recall that was issued in 2021. I purchased items through Amazon, but Meridian is responsible for providing the refund once all documents (information form, picture evidence and invoice) have been submitted. I have emailed them this information since March 2023 and I have called many times only to be given multiple contradictions as to why my refund check hasn't been processed. Some reasons include: No email received; no manager available; no update on status; management is out of office; your check will be mailed out "tomorrow," your check has already been mailed out, your check in "processing," your check will be mailed out in 2-3 weeks. etc. I believe Meridian has not refunded it's customers for the recalled item. I believe that Meridian is purposely giving customers the "runaround," in order to avoid sending a refund for the recalled items.

      To whom it may concern,

      What the claimant failed to mention is that they did not provide any of the required proof up until 4/26- they used excuses such as they don't have money for food to circumvent providing proof.

      On 4/26 they provided proof and a check was issued- this check comes directly from our bank and will take 2-3 weeks to arrive.

      Proof is attached ETA is 5/11

       

      Please close this case promptly.

      Better Business Bureau:

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.
      I would like to add that I have sent these documents to the same company email on 3/17/23 (see attached image).

      In addition, when I contacted Meridian they could not tell me if a check was issued or not. The representative said that she does not have access to that information. She said it could be processing, it could be mailed out, or it will be mailed out tomorrow. 

      Meridian's claim that the customer failed to file proof until 4/26 because the customer had no funds is illogical. Having money (or not having money) has nothing to do with this recall. 

      The representative was always very polite but could not give any clear information. She stated only management had that information. And that management is not at their desk, or they are out of the office. On the very same phone call, when I mentioned litigation, all of a sudden a manager was able to give her an update. 

      I will advise anyone in this situation to file a complaint if they are experiencing the same situation.

      I am writing to express how thoroughly disappointed we are with the 12 chairs that were ordered from Meridian Furniture and received on December 10, 2021. Having waited over 7 months for the merchandise, full payment was made up front and now we opened up the boxes to find 90% of our 12 chairs were defective which is totally unacceptable. Clearly Meridans Quality Control failed to do their job properly. Releasing sub standard merchandise should not have happened if the right inspections occurred. As noted, waiting more than 7 months for this delivery, and receiving it in the condition that it is, is offensive and very embarrassing to Meridian. As a senior executive in a high-end retail environment, I know the importance of customer satisfaction. A company that is truly concerned with customer satisfaction would be interested in knowing of such problems and would work expeditiously to remedy them and provide customer satisfaction, thus building, rather than eroding goodwill.Our interior decorator has contacted Meridians customer service directly and theyre giving her a runaround. They are not taking ownership of the chairs that they delivered, we have provided pictures of all the defective chairs that came. If theres anything you could do to help us resolve this issue we would kindly appreciate it. I have provided some pictures for you to see. 733 Grey - 2 dining chairs ~ **** on top of chair, black and gold finish on legs, one type of leg is a bronze colour not gold 793 grey - 4 counter stools ~ ripples on most of the vaccines, marks on all chairs that cannot be removed 966 grey - 6 dining room chairs ~ ripples on fabric on the back of the chairs, round caps on tips of legs are missing on the majority of the chairs If you can direct us to whom we could speak with we have tried the president and CEO but were not getting anywhere. We love the furniture but we need to rectify this problem.

      We are deeply sorry to see this complaint! 

      Meridian Furniture is a wholesale company and does not sell to the public. It seems as though this customer may have purchased from a retailer, as we have no record of this name or information anywhere in our system.

      As per Meridian Furniture's terms and conditions, it is between the retailer and the customer to resolve any and all disputes. We have never accepted any funds directly from any person with this name and this person is not a customer of ours.

      Please dismiss this case in Meridian's furniture and advise the customer that the retailer they purchased from should be who they are reaching to.

      Hello ******************************* Thank you so much for your prompt attention to this matter. The furniture was bought through my interior decorator *********************, ******** design Co. Invoiced under #******  ****** has sent enormous emails to customer service at ********************** and they to-date have not taken ownership of our complaint. My husband ***************************** will be sending an email to ********************************** which was included in your email to us  I do not know the status of mikes position within the company but we are willing to speak and/or email the *** in order to resolve the quality of the furniture received. If you could kindly forward us the ***s email or the Vice president of merchandising, we would be willing to email them as well. Once again, we did offer replacements for what we deemed replaceable, however we will once again reiterate- You should make this claim against your designer as we did not collect any monies from you.

      WHY IS Meridian, whos a multi billion dollar company putting us through this aggregation. All we are asking is for Meridian to replace all the chairs that are defective or alternatively refund our money.  We have sent many pictures of the defects which are very noticeable  

      4 bar stools (793), 
      1 kitchen chair (733) and 
      4 dining chairs (966)

      We are so sorry to hear this! Unfortunately Meridian Furniture is a wholesale business and does not sell directly to consumer- this complaint may need to be refiled against the retailer.

      However, if you would be able to provide the retailer which you purchased from we can try and reach out to them to figure out a solution for you.

      Meridian Furniture has not collected any monies or sold any products to this complainant as we are a business to business company and not B2C.
