      Last week on January 29, 2024 i purchased halogen light bulbs from Doody and when i got home i saw they were broken. i went back to exchange them, and the workers as well as the store manager were incredibly rude to me. They accused me of not opening the package incorrectly or not reading the instructions, but i am an engineer and know perfectly well how to work with these light bulbs. Besides being rude, Doody refused to exchange my purchase. I am looking for an apology and a change in the service the store provides. I am attaching the receipt with a photograph of the broken bulb.

      At this time, I have been contacted directly by John J. Doody and Son Inc. regarding complaint ID ********, however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

      [Your Answer Here] Doody contacted me to provide an exchange however there was no apology offered or acknowledgment of unprofessional or rude behavior. So far I am not satisfied with this response and continued rude behavior.

      To Whom It May ****************** proper management of a customer complaint it to address the reason of the complaint. 

      The customer wanted to return the halogen bulb.  He brought it to our store, our staff told him he could not return it because it was opened.

      As the Business Manager, I answered and arranged for the customer to come to the store and perform an exchange for a new bulb.

      It seems the customer is not satisfied with this.  It seems his concern is for an apology more than a return.

      I apologize.

      I made purchased for item, for $8.00,it was the wrong item I needed. I somehow I misplace the receipt.I went back the next day, they wouldn't let me exchange it!!! Even those it had their label on it!! What I have read about them online do this all the time!!! Even if you do have the receipt!!! They give people hard time!!! Not good way to do business!! Because of this I go to the big box stores now!! Great job Doody!! Way to go not to get people shop at your store!!

      Good Morning,

      If the Customer paid with a Credit Card, and has the card, we can search our transaction history for 30 days and issue a Credit directly to the Customers Credit Card.

      If the Customer paid with Cash, and ONLY BOUGHT THE ONE ITEM, this search is far more involved.  My cashiers would not be able to locate such a transaction, my bookkeeping staff in our office would have to search for it.

      If the Customer shopped within the last thirty days and only bought the ONE ITEM, please let us know.

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

      It has been more than 30 days! The item has the store name on it!! All I had wanted to do was exchanged it!! Your store wouldn't let me!! By the other comments on ****** reviews, you do this all the time or give people hard time!!

      Your store is rip off!! Enjoy the $8.00!! I will never shop there again!!
