Boarding Pass' website advertised a vintage United Air poster, which my husband was told in Nov. 2017 was in "excellent" condition. In early Dec. 2019, I purchased the poster online for $1650. A couple months later, my husband emailed Boarding Pass to request more info about the poster, but he received no response. Meanwhile, he was looking into getting another vintage poster, and during the course of his research he came across other examples of the same United Air poster we had purchased from Boarding Pass. He realized that the colors were different from ours; the poster we received was severely faded to the point that letters that were supposed to be a bright yellow were nearly white, but the photo on the Boarding Pass website showed bright vivid colors. We took our poster to a local art expert, who essentially told us the poster we received is worthless based on the condition. So we overpaid significantly for a poster that was not in the condition advertised, and when we approached the seller we were told that it was too late to return it, when all we were asking for was the money back that we paid for it. We have reason to believe that Boarding Pass has also offered other posters for sale that are not in the condition advertised. For example, there is a vintage TWA poster on their site that my husband could tell was cropped, but Boarding Pass didn't add that info to the listing until my husband pointed it out to them. In short, Boarding Pass is misrepresenting the items it is selling, and is unwilling to provide any compensation when called out on it. Rather than taking the poster back, Boarding Pass listed our poster for sale on their site. When the only offer that came in was for $960 (at least that is what Boarding Pass told us - since they handled the sale we don't know for sure what was paid), we reluctantly accepted it to at least recover some of our loss. However, we are still out $960 of the purchase price, plus $225 for the art expert.Customer response
