On Friday January 27th, 2023 I attended an estate sale in Cheektowaga, NY held by Edna Louise Liquidations. I purchased 3 items from them that I believed were authentic designer items. The price I paid was $110 total plus tax. $50 for a “***** *******” wallet, $30 for a “****** & *****” purse and $30 for a “********” purse. I believed that these were authentic items because they all displayed the company logo and name on the products and there was no signage from the sellers stating that these were fakes. Additionally, I believed that it was illegal to knowingly sell or resell inauthentic brand name items, so I figured that these items must be real. Unfortunately, once I came home and was able to do further research and inspection of the wallet and bags I discovered that they were counterfeit items. I reached out to the company, Edna Louise, via Facebook messenger and asked if I could please return the items and receive a refund. They replied that I could not because the items were not authentic and were therefore priced accordingly. They advised that if the items were authentic they would have been $300-$500 each. I will attach these messages to the photo section below. Per this conversation, it is made obvious that the estate sale company knowingly sold these counterfeit items which I believe is not only illegal, but also very deceitful. I would like a refund for the three counterfeit items which I accidentally and unknowingly purchased believing they were authentic. Thank you.

In response to the complaint letter you received from Ms. *********. The sale she attended was an estate sale of a deceased relative of my client. I conduct over 120 estate liquidations a year and have been in business since 1996. The sale she attended had over 75 purses, hundreds of pieces of jewelry and many articles of clothing. We had all the purses priced starting at 10.00 each up to 100.00 each. We never advertised ***** *******, ****** and ***** or ********. We are not in the business of selling knock off anything, our job is to sell the personal property of the estate. A ***** ******* wallet would cost $ 850.00 retail, ****** & ***** purses sell for 375.00 and a ******** can cost over $ 1,000. She paid the price we thought were fair and we were not trying to mis-lead anyone. I did receive a message on line from her and I replied kindly. She said she understood, thanked me and I thought it was settled. I am saddened she felt the need to complain to you instead of calling me directly. I have a solid reputation and I handle every call personally. All sales are final but perhaps this was her first experience attending a sale. I will issue her a refund and would like the three items returned so I can give them back to my client. I have already settled up with them so this will be coming out of my personal pocket as I do not own these purses. I would advise her in the future to know what she is buying and to examine items closely. Regards, Charmaine T*** owner / Edna Louise Liquidations
