We hired ***** because we thought he was honorable. We used him previously for some roofing and the job was well done. Our house burned down and we needed a remodel. Without going into the longest story ever, we had a contract for him to finish the house and get the final payment upon sale of the house. We gave him more than ******* and he stopped working before he was half done. Covid has given the contractors a lot of work, so he ditched us. Although he admitted to breaching our contract, he replied with, "*** us". He has been dishonorable and calculating.He left a family with a disabled son stranded. The homeowners had entered into a contract with A-Class Builders to demolish and rebuild a home that we were told was destroyed by a fire almost 10 years ago. However, the contract does not state that A-Class Builders would receive half the payment upfront and receive the remaining payment upon the sale of the house. Instead, the contract explicitly and ****** provides for a payment schedule in accordance with the work as it was completed.****** (homeowner) claims that A-Class Builders took her last payment of $125,000.00 and then "abandoned the job". However, this statement is misleading and false. The homeowners missed three progress payments owed under the contract during construction. The homeowners then provided A-Class Builders with a check to cover some of the missed payments, but advised A-Class Builders that there were insufficient funds to present the check to the bank. Despite this, A-Class Builders continued to provide services. It was only when the homeowners missed a fourth payment, that the services were paused as we waited for further payment. The homeowners partial payment of $125,000.00 was insufficient to bring their account caught up on what was owed.There was, and still is now, a significant balance owed by the homeowners for A-Class Builders' services performed to date. A substantial portion of the home has been constructed. Despite our efforts and our offer to complete this job upon the required payments being made, we have been unable to settle this matter with the homeowners.
