I purchased a vehicle from peoples choice Auto less than one month ago. Since purchasing the vehicle, I’ve had several issues that the dealership has been unwilling to resolve. The owner claims that they are a “certified repair shop“ but I cannot find any documentation that that is true. I’ve had the issues with my vehicle corrected at a reputable, certified, local repair shop. I’m seeking $480 for the repairs.

We are very sorry to hear you are having issues.  We would like to address your issues, however in order to do so you would need to drop your vehicle off to us.  We have several certified shops we contract with.  This is per our conversation on Monday 09/23/2024.  You had text, and I quote:  “your mechanic is welcome to evaluate the vehicle after ******* **** looks at it.”  This has not taken place yet.

On September 22, 2022 I purchased a used 2013 ********** ***** *** from People Choice Auto in Central Square, NY. I paid a total amount of $10,815.60 with tax. Upon purchase, Kevin assured me that all the work that needed to be done on the vehicle had been done and it was all set to go. When I attempted to have the oil changed on the ***** the technician explained that they could not perform the oil change due to a sealant that had been placed all over the oil pan. They explained that the oil pan must have had a leak in it at one time and someone attempted to fix it by "cob-jobbing" the leaks. The sealant was slathered on so heavily and sloppily that they couldn't remove the cover to perform the oil change without breaking the entire pan apart. I then brought it to a trusted mechanic, ******** in Syracuse on January 10, 2023 who had to replace the entire oil pan and gasket just to complete an oil change due to it being in such horrible condition, which costed me $553.11. I had also mentioned a noise coming from the front and asked for them to check it out, they said that the struts, links, wheel barring, and alignment all needed to be replaced very soon as well. February 9th I brought it in to have the wheel barring done and mentioned a new issue for them to look at. They discovered the transmission was now bad. I brought this to Kevins attention and the best he did was remind me that he provided a 3 month warranty which was expired by then, then referred me to a mechanic who could fix it at their price. I believe he "cob-jobs" his vehicles to get them through the warranty time. I was informed that the auto repair shop he uses is known for their "cob-jobs". I explained to him that I'm a single mother and relied on this vehicle. Now I'm without a vehicle and cannot work, I am at such a loss! He got his $10,000.00 and a warranty to back him so he had no care in the world. Meanwhile Im stuck making payments on this vehicle and the insurance to cover it but cant work.

We are very sorry to here about your vehicle issues.  We offer a much longer warranty than most other dealers.  We have extended warranties available as well to protect your investment.  When customers are having issues outside our warranty period we always try to help.  The shop we sent you to was for a transmission replacement and we can get you our cost on labor and parts.  You decided against the replacement and had the shop just change the transmission fluid.  You also told them you were going trade it in.  Not sure what else we could have done for you.  Again, we are very sorry.  .
