I am writing this letter as a formal complaint against Cutting Edge Veterinary PIie as well as DR. Michael W****** About a month ago I called the office to make an appointment for consultation for my French bulldog to be seen as he was having some nose issues. I did not receive any paperwork such as history and physical potential pre op instructions or any phone calls explaining what to do or not to do in the event of surgery. I arrived at the office around 10:00 . Dr W***** did not lay hands on the dog, do any diagnostic testing literally just looked at him and said $2000 for the nose and soft pallet, and we can do it now. Did not ask if the dog had anything by mouth, again did not go over any pre op information that we should have had. Dr W***** did not go over any risks associated with the surgery or anesthesia at all. This office was completely negligent leading up to the consult, during the consult as well as the surgery. I called the office at approximately 12:00 and spoke to Noelle the vet tech, She said everything went well he's waking up fine, please hold and Ill see when you can pick him up. Ten minutes go by she gets on the phone and said he just aspirated and died. Again id like to reiterate that zero pre op instructions were given to me at all, zero history o physical questions were asked before surgery, no documents given regarding this. We feed our dogs at 9:00 am and 6:00 everyday like clockwork, my husband works from home most of the time. So her saying he aspirated and died is nearly impossible. He was fasted from 6:00 pm until 10:30 am the next day, thats 16 hours oh him being without food. The guidelines were historically 12 hours, new guidelines are between 6-8 hours of fasting, so something is not adding up. Noelle stated that the dog was vomiting up fresh kibble, if we fed him kibble, it would be impossible for the pieces to be intact after all of those hours. The biggest contradiction is that we don't even feed hm kibble, we feed him science diet soft food. I will enclose pictures of what they are saying he vomited and what we feed him, totally two different looking foods. The next day 7 /19 I called to speak o the Dr as still have not heard from him. This is the second day of not hearing from Dr W***** at all, I just kept getting Noelle. She then proceeded to tell me he's not available for the rest of the week, I said can he please call us from his cell phone we are devastated, she said no. She also said Ms. ****** this dog died 40 minutes after he woke up, which is a complete contradiction to the day before me benign hold bing told he's waking up and then ten minutes later he's dead. I have tried to reach Dr. W***** he is completely avoiding us. I also mentioned to Noelle, do you realize we had no pre op instructions, no history and physical, no physical exam , the Dr just eye balled the dog. Noelles response was you should know you've had other dogs have surgery before. They also charged me $1000 to pick ip my deceased dog, I said please don1-t charge me this was a clear case of negligence and now a cover up pretending he aspirated to put the blame on the owner rather then the blame been the Dr. Noelle said no you are being charged . I then had to take my animal to be cremated for $700. Again negligence regarding the ore op info, zero contact from Dr . W*****, zero compassion from Noelle and an obvious cover up. Please investigate this office. My family is heartbroken.
