My mom took her car there for AC diagnostics on 8/1/2023 - AC is blowing hot air. My mom has bad English so after she paid a $150 fee with her credit card I called the shop to get the diagnostics results. First red flag was that they charged $150 instead of promised $120, turns out they took advantage of her bad English and did a NYS inspection even though it wasn't due for another 7 months. I started talking to Trevor (owner, I assume) about AC and he said that the AC was broken during prior repair elsewhere and they decline further service on it. I started asking for options on how to repair the AC since we just paid $120 to get a path forward, he became argumentative and replied with "whatever floats your boat, but we decline any further service on the car". I asked if we can "decline" his diagnostics charge since my mom is on a fixed income and now needed to start over at different shop. Trevor proceeded to curse me out over the phone and hang up, he then yelled at and kicked my mom out the shop in front of other customers (she had no idea what was happening), he took the car and parked it behind a locked gate. When I called back to ask what was happening and why he locked the car away after he received the full payment, he said that he refunded the credit card payment and will accept cash only by 5pm otherwise there will be a $75 daily storage fee. My mom tried to go back to tell him that she had only $60 cash on her -- Trevor screamed at her again to get out of his shop. Fortunately, my brother was in the area and had cash on him, otherwise my mom would be stranded in 90 degree heat without means of transport. We should have called the police and show them the credit card receipt and demanded the car back, but my mom was already distraught and wanted to get out of there asap.Business response

THIS CUSTOMER IS LYING - HE THREATENED ME OVER THE PHONE - I WILL DO NOTHING FOR HIM - I AM NOT WASTING MY TIME WITH THIS NONSENSE THAT HE CREATED
