I went to Smile A Bit for dental services: annual, cleaning and assistance for three teeth on May 22, 2023, June 8, 2023, July 3, 2023, and August 18, 2023. I was looking for a new dentist and my insurance website listed them as accepting my insurance. I called them and they confirmed this was the case. I stopped using them when they wanted to remove a healthy tooth and put in an implant. I got a second opinion from another dentist, it was a sinus issue, the tooth was healthy and no work was needed. In time the sinus healed and to this day the tooth is alright. On August 23, 2023, at my last appointment with Smile A Bit I was told I did not owe any money my bills were paid. On June 1, 2024, 10 months later I received a bill with a billing date of 5/7/2024 and another date of 3/7/2024 by the description of Balance Forward $181.50. I called requesting an itemization of the bill since I had been told i owed nothing. On June 20, 2024, I was sent another bill and under description it said:Hello,2nd ******. Please pay $181.50. I have gotten no answer as to why there was a 10 month delay in billing me nor what the bill is for. Please assist me with cancellation of this bill. Thank you.Sincerely,***********************Business response

I spoke with ***********************. I went over the bill explained I did find a clerical error on the bill. I also explained that I was sending a new statement out and the Explanation of benefits to her. I did explain yes I understand 10 months is a long time but sometimes it takes months to get paid by the insurance carrier.

I went for a routine dental cleaning on 5/2/2024. The tech said that she was going to get x-rays. I questioned this, because I knew I had had x-rays completed at my previous appointment on 10/20 2023. The text stated well, you have new insurance. I again stated that I was not due for x-rays, and she said that she would just do the routine ones instead of the full x-ray set. I then got a notice in the mail charging me $30 for the x-rays because my insurance company would not cover them as they were not yet due. I called the office to discuss this with them and was told that it was too bad. The receptionist stated that since you opened your mouth for the x-rays, so it is your responsibility.Business response
