I came into the business to get a service done to my car. The service required no parts to be ordered and it was just a service that the business provided. I was told that service would require a $600 down payment. The owner of the business then recommended that I have him reach out to other companies regarding a part he suggested I have custom made for my car before he performs the service. I agreed and he said it would be another $400 down payment. After several months (roughly 4 months), He still had not ordered any parts or even given me updates regarding anything at all. I tried to reach out multiple times and he would not answer his business phone. Finally about 4 months after I gave him the down payment, he answered the phone and kept making excuse after excuse and I told him that I would like my deposit back. He at first said its not a problem but he can't get it for me that same day. I did not understand why but I said ok so when will he get it back for me. He said he had issues with the companies he was reaching out to to help him build this part, and that as of now he is getting "his money" back from the companies, and once that happens I can have my money back. I told him I would like to see some sort of invoice that the part was ordered in the first place and he got very agressive with me and did not want to even speak to me anymore. I went to the police department and told them what had happened and I no longer felt safe going to the shop by myself without an officer. So an officer met me at the shop and went inside to speak with the owner and the officer came back out saying that the owner said he would give me back my money no problem, but that it can't be done that quickly. It is now 2 months after this occurrence and still, the owner is not answering his phone and I have been given no update whatsoever. At this point I would not like to do business here and just simply would like my down payment back. This was paid in cash at his shop.
