This business is attempting to collect money from me for an accident that had nothing to do with me. I was not in the car, the car was not in my name nor was the insurance yet they want me to pay. They sent a vague letter with no explanation and no information pertaining to the incident that they are trying to collect payment for.

This company is attempting to strong arm money that the ************************* is alledging they over paid to my husband *****************. The people that I have talked to about the situation at Thomas George Associates are rude and condensending. They will not provide the information we need to validate if he was overpaid. When we asked for proof, they sent us a letter that basically stated, if Guardian says you were overpaid, then you were overpaid. No proof, no notes or notices, absoultely no proof. I attempted to negotiate with them and was told that we would have to pay the amount they alledge we were overpaid, $1700. We were also told if we didnt agree to pay the whole amount, we would be dragged into court. It was that or nothing. We did acknowledge that my husband may have been overpaid by 1 week, $900, which we offered, but they will not accept or negotiate at all unless we agree to pay the amount they are demanding. All this with no proof. They also said that the Guardian account was turned over because we did not respond to their notifications. We did not receive any notifications until the the letter from Thomas George Associates.

These people got my info from somewhere and now are harassing me sending letters about an accident/claim that doesn't involve me in any way since I have never been in any accidents, by a car I never owned, I don't have a record or have to prove them of anything since I have never legally owned the vehicle in question. This really unprofessional of them to reach out to people asking them for money without verification of paperwork. I want this to stop and some action should be taken against this unprofessional business, as they have harassed others regarding unknown and illogical claims

The petitioner has not provided a file number that would have been clearly indicated on any letter generated from our office. That information will need to be provided in order to respond.

My daughter had a motor vehicle accident in August of 2023. After months of emails and phone calls I have been able to get on contact with the 3rd party company as I was explained they were on February 6,2024. My daughters insurance had apparently lapsed. I spoke with a gentleman named ******************* and he told me that I had 2 choices..either offer a settlement offer and see of the insurance company accepts or I would need to make a huge down payment qnd monthly payments until it was payed off.. I asked him to please send me the offers in writing so I can weigh the options and he told me that they don't do that. The offer is over the phone only and gave me to the end of the month to make up my mind. My concern is I don't have any information on this company and how do I know if the payments I make are going to be applied to my account. Im sorry if this sounds ***** but I just don't trust anyone without the proper documentation. Thank you for your time in this matter.

      Business response

      02/21/2024

In response to the petitioner's complaint, only one conversation took place with our office on 2/6/24 @ 9:25am. The petitioner was provided with settlement options and TGA was informed that the petitioner would call us back. That has not occurred to date. TGA never refuses to send supporting documentation to authenticate a subrogation loss. We will have this forwarded to the petitioner at the address listed below. We request that when the petitioner communicates with our office again, to please indicated their file number of #*******.

Upon receipt, it is suggested that the petitioner review the supports and have a settlement figure or payment plan proposal, that can be discussed when the petitioner contacts our office.

We consider this response as satisfactory in answering the inquiry presented.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]They are wrong in their answer.  I asked ******************* to please send the information regarding both options and he clearly said "We don't do that it is all done over the phone"

I am requesting paperwork that has both options that they are offering.  That's all I want.

In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

      Sincerely,

Our instructions are clearly indicated in our prior response to the petitioner.

Upon receipt of the supports sent and reviewed, the petitioner needs to contact our office to discuss what settlement figure the petitioner feels is owed from the balance indicated in our letter. TGA is not versed on ****************** status or funds availability of the petitioner even is. Hence it is the responsibility of the petitioner to make an offer, not for TGA to randomly suggest a reduced figure. This is our process and protocol.

This will be our closing remarks on this BBB matter. It is in the hands of the petitioner to follow accordingly if they so choose. If the petitioner wishes to speak to a manager at TGA, we certainly welcome the petitioner to ask for one on the call in.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Like I have stated before in my complaint they have not sent any offer in the mail.  ***** stated they only offer over the phone.  I requested to have the offer mailed to me and again he said they only offer over the phone.  I am not comfortable giving my information over the phone without documentation.  I have no idea if whoever I am talking on the phone would be a scam or not.  I don't think it's too much to ask for documentation of the offer.  I don't like to waste everyone's time including mine for a request that I feel is reasonable.

Again thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.

I called about a letter I received from Thomas George Associates. Immediately, **** was combative with me. He accused me of renting a car, driving it, and having an accident. I said I do not drive cars, never rented a car, and do not have a driver's license. He responded, "Well, not having a driver's license explains the accident." I told him he was combative and kept repeating that I never rented a car, drove a car, and did not even hold a license. He scoffed and giggled, saying he "sees this every day." I told him this did not make sense, that I could not rent a car without a license, and that this was a mistake. He kept being condescending and combative, implying that I was lying and should pay the claim. I told him I would not pay for something I did not do. He then looked at the file and saw that I was an Uber rider, and the claim was about the car I rode in. He did not apologize for his mistake and continued being condescending and abusive. I told him that I did not cause the damages and would not be paying thousands for damages I did not cause. I asked him how I could proceed and who I should call. He continued to bully me and intimidate me into paying the amount. He told me my only options were: 1. to pay the amount in whole or 2. to pay the amount in increments. I informed him that I wanted to dispute it. He told me that even if I dispute it, I still have to pay it. I said that that was a lie; there were other options I could take. I was getting nowhere and kept insisting throughout the call for him to transfer me to someone else because he was being combative. He eventually transferred me to his manager. His manager was as combative and abusive as ****. He kept deceiving me like ****, saying I had no option but to pay. He, just like ****, stated, "I can see the evidence, and it's clear you're at fault." They are not investigators, police, judges, or lawyers. I told him I had a legal background, and it was untrue that I did not have other options and would call the insurance company directly. He laughed and mockingly said, "You're a lawyer?" Then proceeded, just like ****, to dissuade me from calling the insurance company directly. At this point, I was beaten down and felt dehumanized. They treated me like a criminal and used abuse and bullying to intimidate me into paying the claim. I refused to pay it and decided to stop the phone call and call the insurance directly. They claim on their website that they are ACA International accredited. I filed a complaint against them to ACA International because I believe they violated their code of conduct. After my report, ACA International informed me that Thomas George Associates is not accredited by them and that they are falsely using the logo on their website. An investigation is underway. The company's reviews speak for themselves. They use abuse, bullying, and deceit to intimidate people to pay the claims. I feel pained to think about all the people who paid claims that they did not have to ******** because this abusive company intimidated them into it.Overview:- The manager became aware of the employee's behavior towards me, the manager did not try to rectify the situation and instead continued to harass me as the employee was.- The communication was hostile and combative from the start. The moment I called, the employee was attacking and accusing me. His manager was the same. They were both dishonest about the claim and my options, making me feel dehumanized and confused so that they could pressure me to pay the claim.- **** and his manager kept misleading me regarding my legal options and tried to convince me that there was no other option than paying the fee. They told me that I could not call the insurance directly, which was clearly untrue. They told me I had no legal options, which is incredibly deceitful. When I said I had a legal option, they falsely claimed that I had to pay them to take the legal option.- **** and his manager continued to try to dissuade me from disputing the claim and kept saying, "If you dispute it, you have to pay the fee."- When I said I wanted to complain about their behavior, they told me that that was not available and all I could do was dispute the claim and pay the fee.- They are lying to their clients and consumers about their accreditation. After reporting their conduct to ACA International for violating their code of conduct, ACA informed me that they are using the logo without accreditation from them. There is an investigation underway.

      2. On 8/16/23 at 11:43am, an individual contacted our office telephonically, indicating that the number where our message was left belonged to someone else. So, it was removed.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. As long as I don't receive any more calls from them, I am satisfied. Because the way the conversation went is not how it is stated in the response. I had been asked if I was located at an address and ******************* did not provide city and state until later. And I said I don't even know where that is. And explained that I would not have any issues regarding insurance due to having the same provider for 17 years. Again, as long as they do not contact me again, which they did about 3 minutes after the call I made to them, they turned around and called the number in which I called them, but if they don't call me again, we will consider this matter closed.

      Sincerely,

Received a letter regarding my 85 year old father who has dementia. Letter stated that he owes Liberty Mutual ********. The rep from Thomas George was extremely rude and hung up on me when I called to inquire. I called ************************* Liberty mutual stated that they could find nothing whatsoever in regards to my father in their system and stated that Thomas George and ************** is not a company they do business with. Liberty mutual stated I should contact authorities as this seems to be fraudulent.

      Business response

      05/11/2023

Our response to the complaint filed is as follows:

      1. TGA is the insurance recovery firm of Liberty Mutual. The petitioner's allegation that our client would inform the petitioner to "contact the authorities" holds zero credibility.

      2. The correspondence sent to ****************** pertained to a subrogation loss that occurred on 5/7/22.

      3. All calls to and from TGA are recorded for quality assurance and training purposes for reasons specifically like this, when inaccurate information is presented by a complainant.

Based on the petitioner's dispute, TGA will no longer communicate with ******************. We **** this matter as now officially closed.
