Last August we became a dog household after bringing home a very active German Shepherd puppy. She had a very bad case of teething. We needed to learn how to manage the teething, keep our puppy happy, develop a routine, and train her to obey simple commands. ********************* (The Dog Trainer LI) was the answer to our prayers, and more. ***** came to our home once a week for a few months, working on different skills (for both the puppy and the family). She talked to us about everything from food to schedules to toys to collars to brushes to treatsgiving us the benefit of 40+ years of her experience. She provided us with a thick folder of reference material about all of the above plus much more. The info sheets also reinforced and reminded us about what we covered in the training sessions. If we had a question in between sessions, she was more than happy to get back to usshe was a calming force for us nervous newbie dog owners. A bonus: Donnas son, ******, came for some of the sessions. He is like a Zen master with dogs. Our puppy immediately adopted a chill posture when he was present, and he contributed his own knowledge and expertise from his years of owning and training dogs. Another bonus: ****** best friend is a veterinarian!We have stayed in touch since our puppy graduated. We miss *****. She is kind and compassionate but is also an honest straight shooter. She has a wonderful sense of humor and we looked forward to her visits as much as our dog did. Any dog and dog owner would be lucky to get the chance to work with her.
