I was in April 2024.entrust Demidchik Law Firm ******* Branch helped a family of three to file a case of political asylum with the immigration court, but I never got the receipt of the application and couldn't contact them. I had to go to the immigration court to inquire about it myself. After the inquiry, I learned that they only submitted an application for asylum to me, and they charged the lawyer's fee for our family of three. Until now, I haven't answered the phone or sent them a message. I feel that I have been cheated, which leads to my wife's inability to get a work card and work normally.My children can't get a tax refund and social welfare without a social security number, which is so desperate. I hope that if they can't help me manage the asylum case of my family of three, they will give me back my lawyer's fees, totaling $1,000!Initial Complaint

On April 7, I paid the full "flat fee" of $750 (as seen in contract) to the staff member with Demidchik Law Firm, Flushing for a very simple case (I-130 form filing). After the she (later turned out to be a paralegal, -"*********", or "***", - won't give me her full official name) became evasive to my many questions and I begin to feel I can't trust her. When I asked her for a copy of the fee list (with $750 flat fees etc) on top of the just to signed contract and receipt of $750, and an explanation of possible additional fees ( incl. any maximum, etc), she began to reprimand me for having suspicious mind with moral issues and therefrom totally ignored question on the case itself (strangely she responded ONLY using recorded voice messages on the cellphone APP WeChat, but I have the recordings and Chinese and English-my translation- transcript available when BBB wants them). By then I stopped forwarding her any document so right now (today, July 28) she doesn't even has the necessary document to start a single thing (even though she claimed to have "spent a lot of time"), eg. the first step is to forward my documents to the Immigration, which must at least have copy of my passport, etc. which she doesn't have. I eventually contacted their manager **** **** who agreed on the phone that she will talk to *** and return the $750 to me, and we go our separate ways. **** later simply transferred my called to "***" ****** who won't give me the money. I also tried to talk with their L.A. office, and the management their ignored me (suggested talk times but could not be reached each time). So as of now, I paid the full $750 "flat fee" for absolutely nothing except some insults. Please kindly help me getting the money back with an apology and a compensation. Thanks.
