Dear BBB, I am filing a formal complaint against the UPS Store at ***************************************************************. Today, I visited to pick up a package and was charged an unexpected and unreasonable $5 per day storage fee because they said I don't have a mailbox with them. Notably, I had picked up a package for free from the same location just two weeks ago. Upon inquiry, the employee stated that there is a storage fee policy. However, ***** guidelines indicate that the hold service is free for up to 7 days, with extra charges only for additional services, unless one is a premium *** My Choice member.The concerning aspect of this situation is the inconsistency in their practices, as I was not charged during my previous visit just two weeks ago. When I questioned this discrepancy, the store clerk was dismissive and unhelpful, even laughing at my concerns. This has led me to suspect that their behavior may be racially motivated, as I am now being charged just because they want to.Compounding this, the store charges me in cash for this fee, prompting concerns about transparency in financial transactions. I question how many customers are charged this way and whether these fees are reported to the IRS.In light of these issues, I kindly request your assistance in addressing this matter with the UPS store at *****B ***********************. I believe their charging practices are unreasonable, inconsistent, potentially fraudulent, and discriminatory.
