I was contacted by a woman named Dutches stating she was the office manager, she told me that I could no longer be seen in the dental office because of the insurance I have. I told her that I pay out of pocket I don’t use my insurance but that the dentist I see there is the only one I have ever found and liked . She told me that I am not allowed to pay out of pocket because she said it was insurance fraud. I advised her that was not true I have paid out of pocket for other doctors I like . I asked her to send me a letter stating that they refuse to see me I received the letter that is attached. Then she told me it’s in their policy that the don’t let anyone with insurance payout of pocket I asked her to send that to me in writing with in 48 hours I still to date have to received anything from them . Also I have a partial plate for my four front teeth that we were working on I don’t have the money to start all over new again .Business response

To Whom It May Concern, This letter is in response to a complaint that had an ID of #******** .The patient was contacted to inform her that we could not see her now that we have found out she has Medicaid with a Fidelis rider for dental insurance. Our office does not accept these insurances. The patient stated she will be paying out of pocket and wants to continue treatment .If a patient has dental insurance we must submit claims to that insurance, if we do not it is insurance fraud. Medicaid and Fidelis patients cannot be charged for a balance. All of this information has been confirmed with the insurance companies. We do not accept the patient's insurance and we cannot accept any payment out of pocket which has been explained to her. Sincerely, Dutchess Office ManagerCustomer response

I feel like I am being discriminated against because I have insurance through the state because I called my insurance company and asked them if I was allowed to pay for dental services out of pocket reguardless of my insurance status and I was advised that yes I am able to pay for dental services out of pocket . Mrs Dutches said that is insurance fraud and that is not the case at all . The only way it would be insurance fraud is if they submitted false claims. And at no time have I submitted any insurance claims to my insurance company at anytime.
