This company called my work today seeking a verification of employment for myself. I asked to whom is the verification for to the lady who called. She stated empire verification services. I rephrased and asked what lender is this for, she again stated empire verification services. I stated that I would need a signed authorization (which I know I did NOT sign), and all verifications must be in writing. The lady then hung up the phone. I tried calling back the number of my caller id of ###-###-####, and the message stated to press 0 for the operator. I pressed 0 and the phone just rang. I went online and found another phone number of Phone: ###-###-#### Ext. 144 and got the same message with no answer yet again. I have no locked my credit, and will look at my credit report. Our office performs employment verification for our clients. I apologize for our employee hanging up on the customer. Empire is not able to speak directly to the employee, they are only allowed to speak with a manager or HR. I will discuss with our floor manager and see if we can simply tell the employee that we are unable to speak with them directly and kindly say goodbye before hanging up. As far as the numbers just ringing the phone numbers, our employees call from are strictly outbound, so I assume that is the reason for it just ringing . Our corporate number is ###-###-#### and then hit zero for the operator, if someone doesn’t answer it’s because they are on the line. If a message is left, someone will respond. We do not attempt to collect debt nor harass consumers.
