I purchased a vehicle from this used dealer back in January of 2023. I had the vehicle not even three weeks, they had put a new drive shaft in it. I had told them it was clicking ,they only drove it around the block but did not totally look at it for the problem. Every time I went in & paid a payment I have mentioned this to them & was told there was nothing they could do. I have paid this vehicle almost off now there is only $1,900 left on it, the vehicle was almost $9,000 in full total. It is now August 2023 n the dealer has had it due to me driving & the differentials shattered with the brand new drive shaft falling out & now hanging out of it. I had put brand new cv axles on it with them shattering also. Now if this was avoided & looked at properly & fixed it would have never happened. The dealer is saying I have to pay them to get it fixed but they knew about this when I got it back in January. All I would like is one of three things done, 1 have them fix it cause it is their fault of not doing it right 2 a new vehicle from their lot or 3 all my money back I have put down & paid it. Do not ever go to 518 Auto they are money hogs & should not be in business.

*****, when you purchased the vehicle, we made you aware that we wanted to replace the driveshaft due to concerns of the center support bearing in the driveshaft being worn out. we did replace it when the part arrived. A few weeks later you said you hear a clicking noise, I drove your car on the same test drive loop I always use, about 8 miles (not just around the block). the loop we use has a good mix of stop and go, 30mph and 55mph zones. I also used a large parking lot to do figure 8s to see if I could duplicate the noise you were hearing. I could not hear the noise. At that point we advised you to continue to drive the vehicle and if the noise progressed it would make it easier to get a proper diagnosis of the problem. It was shortly after that, that you told us you took the vehicle to your shop, and they said it needed cv axles. We at that point advised you that the noise you were describing was not consistent with cv axles. We also told you we thought it to be odd both rear cv axles would need to be replaced and we were concerned that the diagnosis from your shop was not accurate. You decided to move forward with repair. The next time we saw you, you were boasting about how you had picked your car up from your shop and that the cv axles had fixed the noise. After you left, we remarked to each other that we thought it was odd that the noise you were describing was caused by cv axles, but in the end, we were just happy that the issue was taken care of for you. FastForward to more recently, you again said that you heard a noise. At that point we advised you that you should take it back to the shop that did the cv axles. We obviously can't warranty another repair shops work, and if we did work on it then any warranty, they had on their work would have been voided. I'm assuming your garage never resolved the problem, which led to a larger problem. The driveshaft that we replaced is still in perfect condition. The repairs that we made had nothing to do with your current problem. I'm not sure how you would think that we should be warranting another shops work. They were the ones who had the rear differential apart and installed the cv axles, they were the last ones to touch the parts that you are having a problem with, yet you want to hold us accountable. Again, we can't warranty another shops work, that's why we advised you in the first place not to have them do the repairs and to wait until we could properly diagnose the issue. We did offer to repair the vehicle now, at just the our cost with zero parts/labor mark up to try to help you get the vehicle back going again. We hadn't heard anything back from you until now. The vehicle you bought is 11 years old. It came with a standard 30 day/ 1000 mile warranty. We were glad to try to work with you even after the warranty had expired, But unfortunately, we cannot be responsible for another shops attempted repairs. We have no way of knowing at this point what caused the failure. you had stated that the cv axles fixed the problem, and then months later you were saying that it was making noise again. It seems like it's very possible this is a totally separate issue, or it could have been caused by an improper repair by your shop. Unfortunately, at this point the only one who knows if the axle repair was done properly would be the shop that you had do the repairs.
