I hired Rex Lane Masonry to repoint the chimney on my house in Nov. of 2022. He came and did the work, but left the forms on the chimney because the concrete would need about 6 weeks to harden before he could remove them. After the 6 weeks, he was supposed to come back, remove the forms and install a metal flue chimney cap. He demanded the remaining balance due at the completion of the repointing and never came back to finish the job of removing the forms and installing the cap, despite several phone calls, texts and emails. He answered the messages for a while with different excuses and promising to come "next week", but has never showed, and doesn't answer my messages anymore. If you look him up, there is a pattern, too bad I missed it.Initial Complaint

We hired Rex Lane Masonry to rebuild our chimney this spring. They did the work and found that additional work on the roof and in the structure of the chimney needed to be done. Our job quickly went up in price. The additions to our knowledge, were valid. One of the additional add ons was a flashing of a skylight. We paid an additional $1800-$2000 to have this work done. the payments were completed in June. It its now October and the work on the skylight has yet to be finished. They have ignored repeated emails, texts and calls and are basically ghosting us. There is still equipment on our roof, and winter is coming. We are confused as to the issue or why they refuse to respond to us. We would either like the work completed or our money back for this portion of the agreement. We also would like conformation that the previous work was in fact done. I have repeatedly asked for photos for our roofer to inspect as he has other work to do, and to date have received nothing. This is no way to do business. Its really disappointing to have had this experience with a local company.
